We came to Sant'Angelo a little late in the season (November 4th), and this is one of the few restaurants that was open.
We sat out on the patio, and our server was friendly and attentive. We were offered the specials of the day but no prices were offered along with the specials. Having dined in other restaurants on Ischia, we figured that most plates would be within that same price range.
The food that we received was good. I got the stuffed zucchini flower and pappardelle pasta with mushrooms, and the portion of the pasta was larger than I expected. My partner ordered the mussels, which were also a very large portion. We ordered a couple of glasses of rose (which was very good), but our bill came to over 120 euro. For lunch! It was definitely partially our fault for not checking in advance what the prices were, but this was the most expensive meal we ate the entire week we were there (including the meals we had in Rome).
The food was good but in terms of value to money, I'm not sure if I would recommend this restaurant if there are other...
Read moreWe were seated quickly and waited in by 3 different people. Our food was good but came out cold which ruins the entire eating experience. The prices are way too high for what you get so we would label it as a tourist trap for sure. You’re paying for the view, not the quality of the food or the service.
Even though it was pricey, we decided to give it a shot but it was an expensive disappointment. We also watched so many people being ignored, trying to pay, etc. It took forever for our table to be cleared and in this case it was important because the flys were hovering.
Oh well, you live and you learn and in Sant’Angelo, there are not any choices that are not touristy so you just have to get lucky.
Not sure what some other reviewers saw in this place but to each their own and that’s what makes the world go round.
See, €22 eggplant appetizer, €28...
Read moreExceptionally bad service. We decided to sit here as the location was central but regret it deeply. They only treat american tourists properly, probably because of the tip they expect. If you are not an american stay away from this place. If you read the reviews (unfortunately I hadn’t) you will see that a bunch of people were super happy, and the rest like me complained of disrespect, as they treat people differently, which is a shame for a restaurant. They ignore you, they forget your order, they do not listen or respond. Noone should pay the prices they ask for this treatment. Especially not in Italy where you are always treated nice. This place is a shame at...
