If you’re looking for overpriced salt water with a side of pushy upselling, La Conchiglia is the place.
We had some beers and wine to start (though the bill later suggested we drank a lot more than we did). They dropped bread on the table and of course added a cover charge, which was never explained. Starters were a mixed bag: mussels in what tasted like a bowl of sea water, courgette flowers bland and forgettable, and the only decent thing was the melanzane.
For mains, the tuna was good, the sea urchin pasta just ok, and the seafood pasta so salty it was basically inedible. I told them and they didn’t care, no attempt to fix it.
Throughout the meal they kept trying to sell us extras, and when the bill came the lady was already standing there with the card machine, waiting for us to pay before we even checked it. Surprise surprise, there’s that cover charge plus drinks we didn’t have.

Read moreExcellent Food & View - We had the squash blossom antipasto and were delighted with the fresh ricotta filling and lightly battered blossoms. We opted for the fresh sea bass (brought to the table before cooking and the eyes were clear – an indication of freshness). When the waiter said it would be fried, we were a little concerned, but when it was delivered it was outstanding. A very light, tempura-like batter created a crispy skin exterior and underneath a very moist flesh. The whoile fish is served, cut into sections - meaning the head is on the platter and you have to navigate around some bones. We are used to this style and enjoyed it but wanted to alert others who may not be so adventuresome. However, the fish was some of the freshest and best we’ve had – so learn to deal with whole fish. It’s worth it. Tiramisu dessert was not milky, more cakelike. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The view, next to the...
Read moreI really hate leaving negative comments, but this might be one of the worst dinners my fiancé and I experienced in our time together. On a Sunday we arrived and instantly felt rushed to order at 20h00. 5 people came to our tables but only 2 of them were able to take our orders and give us advice on the menu. We had personnel hover around our table to take our plates as soon as we took our last bites of our entrees. My fiancé barely finished her main dish (6 pieces of pasta and two prawns - 22€) and a new server came and took her plate without saying anything or establish eye contact while she was about to sauce her plate… During the entire dinner we felt as if they wanted to get rid of for the second service on a Sunday while half the restaurant was empty.
The worst part is that is that the food WAS NOT GOOD.
The only reason to come here is the spectacular view and the calming...
