Enoteca Del Soave — Restaurant in Soave

This charming enoteca offers a delightful selection of local Soave wines, with the Cantina del Castello winery conveniently located just behind. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with a genuine small-town feel.

I'm not a wine connoisseur, but even I could appreciate the exceptional quality of the DOC wines they offer. At only €3 a glass, it's a steal! I opted for the first wine on the menu and was blown away by its refreshing taste. It's the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing aperitivo.

We were so impressed by our first visit to this enoteca that we returned just two days later during the Festa dell'Uova Soave. This time, we decided to try their special wine tasting, which featured three glasses of different Soave wines from Cantina del Castello for only €10.

Even though we had already enjoyed a couple of glasses in Verona, the quality of the wines here was exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't experience any hangover the following days, which is a testament to the high quality of the grapes and the winemaking process.

I think the toilet sums up our experience. In 2025, I think it’s fair to say that this type of toilet is unacceptable - especially given the increase in accessibility legislation and inclusivity.

I returned from my adventure to the lavatory and requested a bowl of water for our dog - something which we’ve actually never had to ask for so far in Italy, Austria nor Czechia - it was always provided without asking.

I received a short bark of a reply which I assumed meant “I’m sorry we don’t cater for dogs.” For context, we’re seated outside in 25°C.

We improvised and I filled a glass with some of the bottled water and allowed our dog to drink. No sooner had the water been exhaled by our thirsty dog, the waitress came storming out and snatched the glass off the ground stating that “It’s not my problem your dog is thirsty!”

Pessima esperienza di cibo ed accoglienza

Sono stata a pranzo nell'enoteca Soave dove , in compagnia di mio marito abbiamo ordinato un tagliere (il menu prevede dei taglieri gia' definiti )con culatello, prosciutto crudo ovoline di bufale e due calici di prosecco. Il tagliere era piuttosto scarno modesta la quantita' di salume e treovoline al centro divise a meta' (avremmo preferito di gran lunga un formaggio locale, soprattutto se non si ha la possibilita' di avere un adeguato rifornimento ). Sulla quantita' comunque non discuto perche' preferiamo di gran lunga la qualita'. Ma, purtroppo , e' proprio la qualita' che ci ha molto delusi . I salumi molto sapidi , piuttosto secchi ed abbastanza indistinguibili che abbiamo mangiato a fatica. Le ovoline di bufala decisamente passate molli e spappolate , sono napoletana e ne riconosco le caratteristiche, che abbiamo lasciato nel piatto. Quando una gentile cameriera , al termine si e' informata su come fosse andata, le abbiamo risposto di non essere rimasti soddisfatti. Lei premurosa ha riferito alla proprietaria che si e' presentata al tavolo e, facendosi ripetere le nostre opinioni (noi con calma ed a bassa voce) ci ha assaltito con estrema arroganza, con tono di voce alto e molto prepotente ,coinvolgendo anche i clienti ai tavoli vicini, ci ha dato degli incompetenti dal gusto 'sbagliato'. Ha difeso a spada tratta i suoi prodotti persino la mozzarella passata Ci ha poi portato il conto ed in modo molto maleducato ed offensivo ci ha urlato che avremmo potuto pagare la meta' o non pagare. Naturalmente noi il conto lo abbiamo pagato tutto, interamente, ma desideriamo raccontare la nostra esperienza per quella che e' stata. Riteniamo che, recensioni reali e circostanziate siamo molto piu' utili, siamo viaggiatori ed esperti di cucina ,cibo ed accoglienza .Nel rileggere le recensioni del posto ci siamo resi conto che spesso e' capitato ad altri di avere problemi con la Signora Paola di Maschi di cui non abbiamo potuto apprezzare quella passione e competenza citata da alcune recensioni (o autorecensioni?) ma esclusivamente , la prepotenza, l'arroganza e maleducazione in aggiunta alla scarsa qualita' del cibo che ci ha...
