I want to give this hotel 4.5 stars, but since I can't, 5 it is. I take 1/2 a star off because the lady at the counter was as pleasant as a cactus when I walked in. I said "hello" twice to her (in Italian and then in English) and received no response, other than a grumpy, sour stare. She passed me on to a gentleman whom I believe is the manager. He was polite and obliging in checking me and my best friend in for our 2-night stay.
The hotel has parking - hallelujah - yes I drove from Tuscany down to Amalfi and have lived to tell about it LOL.
The property is situated with an AMAZING view!!! The best view of any hotel I have stayed in my life - without having to pay some ridiculous nightly rate. The value of this hotel, size of room (we had a double bed along with a twin bed), location, delicious plenteous hot/cold breakfast (which was the best breakfast we had out of the 4 properties we stayed at), and great FREE shuttle service running into town every hour (that was precisely punctual), makes this a hotel I shall absolutely return to in the future. Loved Il Nido!
[When we checked out, I did mention to the manager that the only thing they could improve upon was having warm, friendly staff at the front counter. He did not apologize or thank me for the feedback, but hopefully he will listen to what I said as the hotel really is a gem. As a business owner myself, I always believe in conveying feedback directly to management prior to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the IL Nido hotel in Sorrento, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Their friendly and helpful attitudes made me feel right at home.
One of the highlights of this hotel is the stunning view. The panoramic views of the Bay of Naples from the hotel's terrace are absolutely breathtaking. I could have spent hours just sitting there and taking in the view.
The rooms were also immaculate, and it was clear that the hotel takes pride in cleanliness. The attention to detail was impressive, and I appreciated the little touches that made the room feel extra special.
But the real standout for me was the hotel's restaurant. The Italian food was nothing short of exceptional. It was hands down the best meal I had on my two-week trip to Italy. The quality of the ingredients, the preparation, and the presentation were all top-notch. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Sorrento to make sure they dine at this restaurant.
Overall, I would give IL Nido hotel a five-star rating without hesitation. The helpful staff, beautiful view, clean rooms, and outstanding restaurant all made for an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to come back and...
Read moreI stayed at many accommodations over the course of my visit to Italy late August 2020, but none could top the amazingly attentive service and beautiful standards of cleanliness/care of Il Nido. (Actually one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and should honestly be rated higher than a 3-star, in my opinion.)
Family owned and operated, I received a warm introduction to Sorrento by Dino when I arrived, who I believe is part of the family. All of the staff wore face masks, were very helpful/knowledgeable about Sorrento, and were exceptionally polite. I visited for my birthday and they made the day so, so special...
The rooms look to be newly renovated, were attentively cleaned by the housekeeping every day, included mint-on-the-pillow service, and had absolutely incredible views of all of sorrento/Vesuvius. Everything I tried at the restaurant was exceptional, freshly made, and very affordable considering the high quality. (Truly of the best meals I had in Italy was their lemon risotto!)
It’s clear that these owners put an extreme amount of heart and care into what they do and hoping they see the light at the end of this pandemic. They are a small business that really deserves the demand and I will be returning again one day/will be recommending Nido to all my friends and family...
