Taverna Sorrentino is not just a restaurant; it's a place where lifelong friendships are forged over incredible food and warm hospitality. My experience here, from the pre-wedding night meal to subsequent visits, was nothing short of exceptional.
From the very first encounter, it was clear that Taverna Sorrentino is a place where every guest is treated like family. The staff, led by the ever-gracious Mattia, went above and beyond to ensure that our pre-wedding night meal was unforgettable. They took the time to chat with us for months, getting to know our preferences and needs, and even provided personalized menu cards for our event which was just stunning and a lovely souvenir.
The warmth and friendliness at Taverna Sorrentino are second to none. It felt as though we were dining with old friends who were genuinely excited to share in our celebration. The staff's genuine care and attention to detail made us feel cherished and valued.
The cuisine at Taverna Sorrentino is a testament to their commitment to quality and tradition. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavors that left our taste buds delighted. Whether it was fresh seafood, homemade pasta, or delectable desserts, every bite was a true delight.
Taverna Sorrentino's willingness to go the extra mile was evident throughout our experience. They accommodated our party of 21 guests with ease, and nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was dietary restrictions, special requests or splitting everyone's individual drinks tabs, they handled it all with grace and efficiency.
Our pre-wedding night meal was so memorable that we couldn't resist returning to Taverna Sorrentino for more. We dined there twice more during our stay in Sorrento, and each visit was as outstanding as the last.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of our experience was the genuine friendship that blossomed. It's not often that a dining experience leads to lasting connections, but Taverna Sorrentino has a way of bringing people together. We felt like part of their family, and their warm wishes and love were the perfect way to cap off our wedding celebration.
In conclusion, Taverna Sorrentino is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where the magic of friendship and extraordinary dining come together. Mattia and the entire team at Taverna Sorrentino are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We couldn't have asked for a more memorable pre-wedding night meal. To Taverna Sorrentino and your wonderful family, thank you for creating unforgettable moments and lifelong friendships. We'll cherish our time at your restaurant forever, and we will of course keep in touch Mattia and come see you when we are next in Sorrento or you come and visit the UK.

Read moreRegrettably, our visit to Taverna Sorrentina was far from the anticipated experience. Following a hotel recommendation, we were hopeful for a delightful dinner but encountered a series of disappointments.
Arriving on a Saturday night at 9:10 pm, the restaurant wasn't overly busy. However, the wait for our meals stretched to an unreasonable hour and 20 minutes. The troubles began with my order—a hamburger. Despite assurances from the waiter that it would match the enticing picture on the sign, the reality was starkly different. The burger arrived devoid of key ingredients, dry, and disappointingly cold.
My wife's order of grilled veggies and broccoli added to the letdown. Initially served cold, they returned from the kitchen after being microwaved, resulting in a lackluster and soggy texture. The bruschette, a seemingly simple dish, proved to be a culinary letdown. The bread, described as burnt and stale, overshadowed the scant topping of diced tomato and oregano. Notably absent were expected elements like diced onion, basil, and any hint of olive oil or dressing.
Acknowledging the subpar experience, the staff made efforts to rectify the situation by discounting the bill and offering additional lemonchello. However, these gestures fell short of compensating for the overall dissatisfaction. The lengthy wait, coupled with the disappointing quality of the food, reflected poorly on the establishment.
In conclusion, Taverna Sorrentina failed to meet our expectations. Despite the staff's recognition of the issues, the fundamental problem lies in the kitchen's execution. Our recommendation would be to explore other dining options in Sorrento—places like Azz's, further down the road, where superior food and...
Read moreYou can’t trust google reviews because this place somehow gets 4 stars despite being decidedly below par. I will start with the positives. The flor tiles are nice.
I should have just walked off when we asked for a table for four and the waiter looked weary as though he’d had enough of being a waiter.
When seated the menu is the same as all the other menus. What is not the same as all the other places is the quality of food.
The gnocchi with mushrooms was over salted. The salad that came with my main was somehow over salted and slick with oil and not in a “nice dressing” way being a few leaves of lettuce and a bit of radicchio. Avoid both the chicken and pork dishes as they are overpriced. Chips were cold on arrival.
They didn’t bring any bread to the table until the mains arrived. We ordered lemon soda and they brought lime soda.
The bill came and I have to admit feeling robbed. Americans on the next table seemed to think it was the best restaurant ever. I can only presume they review a lot of things on here because this place is the worst I’ve been in Sorrento.
Also - and I know they can’t help it. Very loud road noise and pollution from the main road added to the generally poor vibe. If you are in such a poor spot you need to raise your game to attract customers. Or perhaps you can rely on fake reviews or those with very little experience of eating out in Europe to boost the numbers on here to a level far in excess of...
