Little slow service and not very good one. Food ok enough. But it's irritating that all the restaurants in the area, including this one, is serving bread to begin with, mandatory and charge money for something we didn't ask for. And the bread is dry and chewy and needs a big effort to get through. And they don't offer anything with the bread, like oil and salt or salted butter. We asked for some butter to put on the bread - and they came with the worst unsalted butter ever!! Tasted like milk... Nothing to put on a bread. Ordered a starter and a main course. And this restaurant as the rest only put on the table two forks and one knife. What's with that!?? If you use the knife during the starter, they take take it away after the starters, and never offer a new one for the main dish. If you have wine in a cooler, and your glass is empty and they attend the table during serving, they never offer to top the glasses with wine, even when they attending at the table. Small details that cost little to implement as a service. Over all a restaurant experience not to be...
Read moreWe have been here for dinner, didn’t book but luckily found space anyway. As we read in other reviews the prices were a bit higher than average but Sperlonga in general is quite touristic and slightly on the expensive side, so we didn’t mind. The food was totally worth it, would definitely recommend the scialatielli with swordfish and pistachio. One thing I would suggest is that if you want some fried seafood as starter you just get the main portion, so that you will pay €20 but will get a good amount of calamari and about 3 prawns (while the starter portion is just €2 cheaper but will be smaller and with only calamari with courgettes and mint).
The reason why I only gave 3 stars (other than the price) is that the service was not great. We were quite disappointed in hearing the waiter go through the specials of the day with the table next to us while nobody mentioned them to us. We also waited quite a long time after asking for the bill. Considering the price we were just expecting a bit more attention...
Read moreWe came as a family with two adults a baby and a 5 years old. We had Pasta Vongole, Seafood Risotto, Beens soup, Mixed Vegetables and a mixed salad + water and house red wine.
We didn’t expect gourmet, but just a genuine and honest meal at the lovely square - but all the food was below average - but the most significant discovery and disappoint was the level of service. Such a negative attitude from Primary the lady head of staff. Maybe because we were trying to make the baby sleep at the same time, but we were the first guest in a completely empty restaurant apart from one couple. So we were not taking up any space or annoying anyone with our family set up. We ordered and finished up within 50min. We had such a bad experience and wanted to go into dialogue about it - because we didn’t get the level of bad service. But due to language barrier- I feel like I need to do this little...
