Il Faro e la Luna — Restaurant in Stresa

What a pity. But someone has to be the first one with a really negative experience, I guess. We've been waiting 30 minutes for our drinks. After a really kind reminder we've received them. After an hour I was politely asking if our order might have been missed. Answer: "Everyone is really waiting here for very long, you are free to leave if you don't like that". My mistake, I should have left at this point, but I was hungry and waiting for an hour at that point. Four girls at the table next to us who have just arrived left as they have heard how rude the waiter was. After 1,5 hours I asked again. Now he became really aggressive, told me I can leave. At that point the owner of the restaurant took care of my question. Turned out our order was forgotten. The owner sincerely apologized, we got a limoncello on the house. The waiter was still aggressive. I don't know what his problem is, obviously...

We could have not find a better place for a homemade pizza! The place is situated near the main road, so is easy to find. They have a small terrace and cozy interior for a few people. Since we got there we felt like we already knew the whole staff - this is probably a common Italian approach but the waitress was extremely kind and obliging :) Lets get to the pizza! Fantastic! Sadly a I do not remember what were the names, but I had some vegetarian with cheese, aubergine, zucchini; the other one was with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, proscciutto; the third one was some Italian sausage with spinach - but I bet all of the pizzas would be great! The real charm is the dough - some kind of wholegrain flour, crunchy, well seasoned. And even when we were leaving we got a little gift for our little cousin. Would give six stars but...

The restaurant was recommended by a staff member at the hotel we are staying at. We received a table with the menus. Sat for almost 10-15 min before we were asked if we would like to order something to drink. By that time we had already decided on what we wanted to eat. The waitress took our drinks order but refused to take our full order. They eventually came back after 20 min to ask if we wanted to order food. The young waitress was rude. We paid our drinks and left. The way she treated us felt more racially motivated. Would never set foot...
