Lido Blu — Restaurant in Stresa

Worst place in town for dinning of any type. Several members of our group stopped here at varying times during our stay, and everyone agreed it was the worst place they had encountered in this lovely town filled with excellent restaurants. The food is just awful. Pizza must be frozen, at least it surely looks and taste that way. I had a lasagna that was warm in the center and cold outside, and we all know that is a sign of microwaved frozen food. The lasagna was awful even when compared to store bought frozen microwave stuff. They indicate they take credit cards, but they don’t so be aware. Don’t be lured in by the views of the lake, because this is absolutely the worst place for food I have ever encountered in all of Italy. Mancavo da Stresa da diversi anni. Ci sono ritornato con la famiglia e non pensavo di trovare così poca accoglienza da un esercizio pubblico locale. Il cassiere (non so se era il proprietario) si è mostrato assolutamente MALEDUCATO e anti-professionale: gestione del cliente ZERO! (Una vergogna anche per tutti i ristoratori di Stresa). Ci hanno servito una torta al cioccolato che, anche se il cassiere si è offeso, faceva letteralmente SCHIFO (e ribadisco SCHIFO e SCHIFO): vecchia almeno di una settimana, secca e dalle dimensioni decisamente mignon, rapportata al prezzo. Un aperitivo che, nonostante il prezzo esoso, viene servito senza nemmeno due patatine (e, avendole chieste, la commessa ci ha informato che "non era orario"): anche nei peggiori bar di paese, a qualsiasi ora, servono un semplice aperitivo con patatine e noccioline!!! Decido di soprassedere e magari recensire in seguito. Ma, per finire, mando mio figlio quindicenne a pagare e il cassiere si prende la libertà di aggiungere arbitrariamente al prezzo esposto sul loro menù (che già non è a buon mercato). Quando è troppo, è troppo. Mi reco personalmente al banco è faccio notare l'errore, ma subito vengo trattato con arroganza e saccenteria. Allora esprimo apertamente il mio giudizio sul cibo servito e faccio notare che devono ringraziare la presenza del lago e il turismo mordi e fuggi, altrimenti quel locale, con quel servizio e il cibo servito, sarebbe chiuso da tempo. Il cassiere (professionalità zero), per tutta risposta, mi aggredisce verbalmente dando a me del maleducato. Evidentemente, secondo il suo punto di vista, il turista deve mangiare del cibo scadente, pagare profumatamente e sorridere: siamo all'apoteosi! Peccato non poter mettere voti negativi, ma zero sarebbe già troppo (si salva solo la location, ma questa non è merito del ristoratore). Service was absolutely horrible. Ordered two drinks and a crepe. They asked us: “that’s all?” With a big attitude. Drinks took a long time to come (it was late and not busy at all). When we went to pay, we needed to pay €2,50 per person for just the cutlery (??). This was never mentioned and we only saw because of the ridiculous price. We told the servers we weren’t going to pay and immediately they took 1 of the charges off (very weird). Only after we made a fuss they told us it was on the menu is very small letters. We paid €21,50 instead of €24,- after this.
