Ristorante Lago Maggiore — Restaurant in Stresa

We were disappointed. How the location looks, you would expect an excellent meal and service. Somebody of us ordered a green salad (I asked with french dressing) as starter, then the main course (beef filet, french fries and vegetables). The other person ordered a mixed salad, steak milano and potatoes, everything in same time. We got the green salad (without any dressing and totally boring) in the same time like my husbund got his main meal (with my starter!). After I finished my salad we waited too long for my main course....my husbund waited with his meal, that I later don't have to eat alone. My vegetables were full of oil and without taste, the french fries were not crisby, and the beef filet was medium and good, but also without taste.....no pepper, no salt. We eat one of the most expensive meals they have, but never again. The waiter didn't care (his answer when I told him, that the food was boring, was only "okay"), was strange and the owner liked more to drink every few minutes something from the bar than to take care, if the guests feel okay. And - it was february when we were there, not main season! We saw other bad reviews of guests, and the answers of the owner are cheeky and ignorant.....unbelievable! We really can not recommand this...

We ordered for take out. The staff was not very friendly, the one I first approach appearantly didn't speak English and kept giving me weird faces, and pointed me to another lady who, after realizing I wanted to order take out pointed me to someone else. That waiter was better, I finally got to order but wasn't offered a seat to wait, instead I was told to wait outside while waiting on my food. I saw that other guests had their dog with them at one of the outdoor tables so you can bring your dog along. I ordered two pizzas and one calimari fritti. The calimari was good but they didn't provide any sauce or marinara with it, and the pizzas were not great. I had better pizzas...

Food was okay however far too much olive oil on everything for my taste. However, what really let this restuarant down was the poor service. We waited an hour for our food to arrive during this time we hadn't even had the customary bread on the table. This duly arrived when literally thrown onto the tsble by a passing waiter with no communication! When our meal eventually did arrive the order was wrong! Then we were brought drinks we hadn't ordered which another table were waiting on. Disappointing and as there are so many restaurants to choose from we...
