Very stale and poor quality bread served at the start of the meal. Gnocchi was mushy and flavourless. Ragù over salted with clashing flavours, tasted more like tuna. Duck was rubbery and underspiced. Beef fillet was bland. Cheesecake was not cheesecake, rather it was a block of jelly-textured white chocolate - very sickly. Brownies (served with the “cheesecake”) were stale and hard. Good pina colada. Service good, though nobody to direct you to the dining area with an entirely abandoned ground floor that you have to navigate. Cold and clinical atmosphere (inside), though clean with basic decorations. This place offers a great choice and quality of main dishes. The gran frittura was almost tempura-light and featured a lovely mix of the lake fish and different veggies with some delicately roasted potatoes on the side.

An excellent white Veneto wine supplemented the meal. The staff managed to maintain a good balance of helpfulness and letting you enjoy the amazing setting and sweeping views of the western coast of Lake Maggiore.

Amazing view, service, food. When we arrived to the island, I expected to sit somewhere and have mediocre pasta since there are many restaurants that fit into the tourist trap category. However, Elvezia’s reviews were high and we decided to try it out. First of all, find a place on the second floor because the panorama is amazing.
