This restaurant was amazing and one of our best meals in Italy. The food was extraordinary and the service from Caterina was superbly attentive. Even the bread they offered was something else, and the wine was splendid (sauvignon blanc). The pasta was definetly the best and most fresh we had on our entire trip (something we mistakenly thought that we would get anywhere). The polenta was a worthy choice also, and very delicious. I could only say the meat was good enough, but I would not put it at same high level of everything else, so the only room for improvement that I could mention. Did I say about the atmosphere? Ristorante Torrione is a delightful little restaurant, on a quiet side street, in the middle of Subiaco. We booked, so had no trouble with a table for six. The service was brisk and friendly, the staff very helpful with choosing a local wine. The lunch was excellent, although we only had primi. My Fettucine al funghi was quite delicious and paired beautifully with the Lazio Biancolella which was crisp and refreshing. Una cena indimenticabile a Subiaco in un bellissimo scorcio del centro storico, affacciato su una deliziosa scalinata. L accoglienza è quella di un Bistrot ben arredato e dall atmosfera calda. I proprietari ci hanno fatto accomodare e ci hanno subito offerto un calice di prosecco, raccontandoci un po di notizie del luogo. Veniamo alla cena: io e la mia compagna abbiamo scelta l antipasto del Torrione, una selezione di ottimo salumi e formaggi di altissima qualità, accompagnati anche da una polentina fritta con sugo di amatriciana. Come portata principale due primi che consiglio assolutamente: i tortelloni fatti in casa ripieni di pere e pecorino e gli gnocchi fatti in casa con funghi porcini. Abbiamo preso un vino rosso che mi ha subito colpito, Cesanese del piglio Picchiatello. Alla fine un dolce condiviso, super buono: la scomposta con frolla salata e crema pasticcera. Che dire una cena indimenticabile, è un locale fuori dal tempo in un posto che merita davvero la visita a Subiaco. Ci torneremo sicuramente e lo consiglierei anche a chi vuole andare da quelle parti.
