Ristorante Il Borgo — Restaurant in Termoli

Il Borgo is conveniently located next to the old historic centre, and within easy walking distance within the town. We ate outside, in a quiet small alley where the restaurant's tables are positioned, a very pleasant and warm evening at the end of the summer. The menu is small, evidently the focus is on few excellent dishes: we had spaghetti alle vongole and chitarrina alla marinara as first, then shared a frittura mista, all tasty and wellpreoared. The owner was very nice, friendly and informative, he also introduced us to the wines of the local producer San Zenone: the Clivia white (local Falanghina grapes) which we had for dinner, and the red Tintilia - very good wines, which we later bought (the San Zenone outlet was right next to our B&B), a welcome addition of Molise to my wine geography. He also treated us to locally produced liqueurs, Genziana (quite different from various commercial brands I had tried thus far) and Ratafia (based on local red wine with amarena), delicious. Planning a quick pit stop lunch as we passed on the toll road something pulled me here and we decided to deviate. Very glad we did so! I am not a fish lover but enjoy a good dish of mussels or calamari as well as fish without bones (which is very difficult to find in Italy) . We had antipathy and fried seafood, the first platter had some fishy things that my fiancee saved me from but from then on it was excellent! The owner is all heart! We were a bit concerned the bill would be hefty but although I made up for the non eaten fish with wine, it was very affordable!! Great lunch with wine and a coffee...

Non so come si mangia, devo essere onesto, forse si mangia bene e forse no, non so i prezzi. Non ho queste notizie perché mi ci sono affacciato verso la ore 14 e vi era un solo tavolo piccolo libero. Per prima la cameriera , diceva che non era libero ma nello stesso tempo non vi era alcuna prenotazione per quel tavolo. E avrebbe dovuto chiedere al titolare che jn quel momento era assente. Io allora adducevo che se non era prenotato perché non potevo accomodare per pranzare? E così mi ci faceva sedere. In quegli istanti sopraggiunge il titolare del ristorante che si era assentato e vedendomi lì seduto era rimasto un attimo sorpreso. Ho scambiato due parole con lo stesso dicendo che ero molto curioso di come avrei mangiato li. Lui entra all inyerno del ristorante e poco dopo esce mi si avvicina e mi dice che non erano in grado di servirmi perché " la cucina è incasinata" e che "non è possibile al momento di farmida mangiare " adducendo confusissime motivazioni. Io già da prima avevo capito che non volevano accettare per quel piccolo tavolino un solo avventore. Poi la conferma di ciò che avevo intuito. Con le CHIACCHIERE che mi diceva il proprietario. In.pratica mi hanno scacciato.

Ho comunque detto al titolare che una cosa simile non mi era mai capitata. Una bramosia , una avidità tali , mai viste in vita mia.

Solo perché il soggetto titolare del ristorante. Secondo me, di una maleducazione più unica che rara sperava in cuor suo di poter far sedere a quel tavolino più di un avventore. Guadagnando così qualche soldo in più.

Dalle recensioni che leggo vedo che il tipo non è nuovo a scacciare la gente. Se poi il cibo sia buono non.posso dire. Sta di fatto che vi sono tante recensioni che ne parlano male . Forse è stato meglio cosi. Non aver mangiato...
