A place where you are welcomed with smiles and warm energy.
We were lucky to secure a table of four without a booking; we recommend booking as Gallo is popular amongst the locals, even on a Monday lunch.
Firstly the wine list is epic, with four pages of champagne and a large selection of half bottles of all varieties, along with an excellent selection of Italian wines from all regions at a great value.
Secondly, the service is impeccable; the team work seamlessly together and very knowledgeable about the wines and local cuisine. The team are incredibly kind and helpful.
Primarily a seafood restaurant, with all your local catches of the day on display. All dishes we experienced, from the appetiser, first course, main and desserts, were divine. You can’t go wrong!
Inside the restaurant, you enjoy being transported to another era with the stone interior or be seated on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful views of the Adriatic and local fisherman lifestyle.
The best dining experience we had during our stay in Puglia, and we wish we had more time to dine at Gallo again; you will be super impressed. A special thank you...
Read moreHotel mentioned this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. It’s a pretty restaurant with white tablecloth. The servers actually don’t speak English that well or they speak English well and just pretend they don’t speak English that well but they put two bottles of water down the table and I said we didn’t want 2 bottles after telling them twice that we only wanted the flat water and only one bottle they took one off. They brought us Parmesan cheese, which I never asked for iand then charge really when someone put food on the table on a table. I shouldn’t have to ask if it’s complementary or if they’re charging me for it without asking us to put it on the table that was very annoying they did take it off after three managers came over !’ And I complained on the up side the fish that was €49 was very good and we also had a pasta. We had a salad which was good and we had the Eggplant Parmesan, which was really good it was fried and delicious. Nothing like I’ve ever tasted before lthey charge five euros per person to sit in the restaurant just be aware of that and...
Read moreA lovely restaurant right on the harbor. We went twice while we were in Trani. The first time, the food was excellent, the service very attentive. The Eggplant parmigiana was superb and creative. The eggplant filling was rolled in a thin pasta wrap and deep fried. The dish had three the size of an egg-roll. My partner had raw tuna cut into strips to mimic spaghetti. The mushroom and scampi pasta was also excellent. Wine list was extensive and somewhat higher priced than most, but they did have a nice selection of half bottles.
Our second time, we again had a table looking out on the harbor. Service was lackluster. The Eggplant parmigiana tasted like it had sat in the kitchen for a while and only had two rolls this time. The fish in wrap (a plastic film) was put down, opened and left in the film, sitting in the bowl. The waiter never poured the wine or water after opening them. If you go, I hope you get them on...
