A friend suggested this place to taste the REAL trapanese fresh fish. The location is very nice, both inside and outside. We had lunch on the terrace and the breeze was really enjoyable. We ordered the “Menù Degustazione” (tasting menu) and the grilled fish. The caponata (local antipasto made with fried vegetables), the busiate (local pasta with the typical almonds pesto) and the grilled fish was scrumptious! The thing I liked the least was the fried paranza. I really loved the grilled tuna and swordfish. The amount of food was more than enough (we couldn’t finish the food and they packed the leftovers for us to take them away). We ordered 1lt of White House wine: I rarely buy bottled wine in Italian restaurant, because there’s no need; the house wine is usually delicious and definitely cheaper. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The bill was €70 (€27 for the menu and 30€ for the grilled fish plus 1coke and 1litre of white house wine). Plus, I noticed there was 1coperto and 1service on the bill so I asked for explanation: basically, they’re the same thing and it’s 2€ each. "Aggio statu 'ntu stu restauratu domenica sera e agghju avutu na sperienza pessima. Agghju ordinatu un cuscous di pisce e un cuscous di pisci frittu, ma sulu unu di li dui è statu servitu. U serviziu era lenti e inattentu, e a mangià era fredda e insipida. U patronu era veramente poco commerciante e niciu, e ci ha engueulatu a la fini di u ristorantiu perchè noi no vulemu pagà u piattu chì no ci fu servitu. C'è statu nisunu gesto di cortesia, e anzi ci hanno guardati con sospetto. Ùn mi ricomanderei stu restauratu à niunu.

U piattu chì ci fu servitu era molto male cucinatu e insipido. I calamari eranu caoutchouteux, i pisci fritti eranu senza sapore, e a zuppa di pesce era senza pesce, ma solo con la salsa di pomodoro.

Anche il personale sembrava sperare qualcosa dal proprietario.

"I was at this restaurant at the last Sunday night and I had a terrible experience. I ordered a couscous of fish and a couscous of fried fish, but only one of the two was served. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food was cold and tasteless. The owner was really unkind and rude, and he shouted at us at the end of the restaurant because we didn't want to pay for the dish that wasn't served to us. There was no gesture of courtesy, and in fact we were looked at with suspicion. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The dish that was served to us was very poorly cooked and tasteless. The squid were rubbery, the fried fish were tasteless, and the fish soup was without fish, but only with tomato sauce.

Even the staff seemed to be hoping for something from the owner.

"J'ai été dans ce restaurant dimanche soir et j'ai eu une expérience terrible. J'ai commandé un couscous de poisson et un couscous de poisson frit, mais seul un des deux a été servi. Le service était lent et inattentif, et la nourriture était froide et insipide. Le propriétaire était vraiment peu commerçant et désagréable, et il nous a crié dessus à la fin du restaurant parce que nous ne voulions pas payer le plat qui ne nous a pas été servi. Il n'y a eu aucun geste de courtoisie, et en fait nous avons été regardés avec méfiance. Je ne recommanderais pas ce restaurant à qui que ce soit.

Le plat qui nous a été servi était très mal cuit et insipide. Les calamars étaient caoutchouteux, les poissons frits étaient sans goût, et la soupe de poisson était sans poisson, mais uniquement avec de la sauce tomate.

Una delusione totale. Siamo andati in questo ristorante sperando di goderci una bella domenica in famiglia, ma ne siamo usciti profondamente delusi e con l’amaro in bocca — in tutti i sensi. L’antipasto di zuppa di cozze è stato l’inizio di una caduta libera: niente salsa di pomodoro, niente sapore, solo cozze immerse in una specie di brodo d’acqua calda, insapore e tristissimo. Il primo di pesce con gamberetti era un piatto senz’anima: l’unico gusto percepibile era quello di un pesto invadente, che copriva completamente il (presunto) pesce. Il cuscus di pesce, che a Trapani dovrebbe essere un simbolo di eccellenza, è stato invece di una tristezza unica cuscus con brodo anonimo, senza un solo pezzetto di pesce, con il forte sospetto che fosse lo stesso brodo insipido delle cozze. Anche i bambini, con una semplice pasta al pomodoro, hanno lasciato il piatto dopo due forchettate dicendo: “Non mi piace”. E se un bambino rifiuta la pasta al pomodoro, è davvero tutto da dire. Ma la cosa più spiacevole è stata sentirci quasi presi in giro dal cameriere, che davanti alla nostra evidente insoddisfazione ha esclamato: “Eh, buono era il pane!”battuta infelice e sarcastica fuori luogo che ha peggiorato ulteriormente il nostro umore. Il servizio, già poco attento e distaccato, si è rivelato privo di empatia e professionalità. Avevamo scelto questo posto per rilassarci e gustare un pranzo passando una bella giornata Invece ci siamo ritrovati con il malumore e la sensazione di aver buttato via tempo e soldi. Non sono solito dare queste brutte recensioni ma forse questo è davvero il loro standard, e se così fosse, consiglio di rivedere profondamente la proposta gastronomica e il modo di accogliere i clienti. Sconsigliato, purtroppo con dispiacere il ristorante e consiglio ai gestori di migliorare materia prima e tutta la gestione...
