The Ristorante Concordia is an elegant place right in the center of Old Town Udine at the foothill of the famous castle hill, from which you have a scenic view over the entire city. Udine is one of these cute and placid northern Italian cities you don’t want to miss. I really love Udine as it is the closest Italian city from my home country Austria and unlike Trieste, which I also love by the way because it is by the sea, Udine doesn’t have the infamous Bora, this Adriatic wind on the East coast of the Adria which occur once in a while and literally will blow you away. So you really have to wrap yourself up and stem against the wind. This won’t happen to you in Udine as this city is just located on the southern foothills of the Alps and about 40 minutes by car away from the Adria.
Back to the Concordia. The staff is friendly and we got our meals very quickly and they tasted delicious, meaning here you will get this typical thin-crusted Italian pizza and an al dente Spaghetti Bolognese. Here at the Ristorante Concordia as well as all over Udine by the way, the Spaghetti Bolognese is to be found as Spaghetti Ragout on the menu. They were very willing to make my wishes come true and, so as here they are good in improvising, only a few minutes later I had my pizza con „salami dolce“, this so-called sweet salami. It was so delicious to enjoy a true Italian pizza in Italy again, surrounded by Italian waiters, Italian language, Italian menu...

Read moreO On our way back to Germany, we stumbled upon this place that was open on a Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised and asked if we could get a takeaway pizza. Despite the language barrier, the staff was incredibly quick and friendly. Even though the town isn't a tourist hotspot and the staff's English wasn't perfect, we managed to communicate and place our order. When I inquired about dessert options, they kindly recommended a delightful millefoglie cake. We enjoyed the delicious Pizza Rustica and Disgraziata, which were served to us in just 15 minutes. A big thank you to the...
Read moreLooking to enjoy a nice relaxed Italian style dinner and left disappointed. First, all indoor areas and good roof area were reserved and they sat us under a plastic roof, with no natural wind nor ventilation. The food is good but the service quality will depends of which waitress you catch as they run all over the place. We got a soft drink in a closed glass bottle. It was helpful to have a Swiss knife. We asked the wrong waitress for ice and therefore, didn’t get it. Service was for eat and go fast restaurant. The pizza is good as well as the beef...
