The Botanist — Restaurant in Vasto

My family and I, four adults, a toddler, and a couple of friends have been at the "Botanist" for drinks before dinner. One year ago, this was our favourite place to have breakfast and enjoy high-quality cocktails. All of this blew away and left room for a very low-quality place. We were highly disappointed by the atrocious evolution of this place.

Here's the experience in short:

Atmosphere & Place 5: The Botanist location is not the sexiest in town. The place offers its tables a few centimetres away from the car exhausts and a nice view of a parking area. You can find much more enjoyable places in the old town. As I said, this was not a problem last year because the drinks' quality and the staff's professionalism 100% filled the gap.

Menu 3.: A disaster! My cocktail was one of the weekly selections, I was expecting a Martini Rosso-based cocktail, but I received a Martini Rosso. Same for the gin tonic my friend ordered. They had to convince themselves they were drinking a Gin Tonic. Really bad.

Service 2: Only one waiter was serving all the tables. Of course, she could not serve all the clients at a reasonable pace. But this is a management problem. What really pissed me off was that she was serving first the local clients and after the other ones. We had to go inside and ask for an explanation since we had been waiting for a gin tonic(?) for over half an hour. On top of that, I saw the bartender preparing other drinks for the table that arrived after us. Shameful.

Il locale più poetico di Vasto nel quale puoi vivere le tue pause brevi a due passi dal centro storico. Ho festeggiato qui, alcuni mesi fa, il mio compleanno insieme ai miei vecchi compagni di classe delle medie. Coccolati da Mattia e Federica, giovani adulti educati e sorridenti. Dispongono di birre artigianali, aperitivi e altro. Questa mattina le due signore hanno accolto chiunque con cortesia ed amorevolezza, ci sono gli abitués ma loro fanno sentire tutti a casa, non fanno differenze. Buona la crostata fatta in casa, buonissima la spremuta d'arancia con lo zenzero bella fresca e gustosa, buono il cappuccino. Anche se i prodotti delle Tre Marie sono tra i migliori, mi sarebbe piaciuto un croissant artigianale per completare l'idillio che vivo in questo locale, anche se non sono un'assidua frequentatrice. Vasto ha bisogno di poesia, di arte di amore e cordialità, qui si è al sicuro💗 P.s. Pet friendly, (aggiungo io per proprietari problematici, nei limiti di educazione e spazio 😉) P.s.2 Non metto 5stelle perchè io che non mangio più i cibi processati, se decido di sgarrare con un croissant, deve essere artigianale e con la crema fresca, questo locale merita scelte...

Ho bevuto un goccio di genziana orrenda con i fondi della bottiglia su un bicchierino di plastica da caffè (1/2 bicchierino) Pagata quattro euro Anche no! E con standard si punta l’attenzione sul bicchierino di carta non sul fatto che non si è stati gentili nel come si è detto che si era in chiusura e sul fatto che si è finito il fondo di una bottiglia che era già nella differenziata. Vetro. A volte si perde il focus nelle risposte. Saranno stati tre cl di genziana in uno dei due bicchierini pagati quattro euro. Basito A volte è meglio dire guardate ragazzi siamo chiusi stop.
