Waited more than 40 minutes for an eel that arrived overdone/ burned. 4 other tables that arrived before us had been served in the meantime. No apologies from the staff. On top of that waited additional 5 minutes for forgotten 🤣 2nd portion of fries. Not recommending at all.

The restaurant has a very pleasant location next to the canal. We are surrounded by nature, it’s very quiet. The food is very good, we took lasagna and thun. But like in all Venitia area the price is a bit too expensive than that we have in our plate, especially for lasagna.

We had a very large group. We also had time constraints. Given those issues under normal circumstances I'm reasonably sure they might rate a 5 on service. The only issue was while server was dishing out my risoto, a fair portion of it ended up on the tablecloth.

Legend has it that during their invasion of Italy in the 5th century, Attila arrived in the Isle of Torcello (the first inhabited island in Venice).

According to the legend this stone throne was used by the Hun's king Attila. In reality the Hun never arrived in Torcello as their descent into North Eastern Italy was halted at Aquileia and being pastoralist people, they would have never reached an island from the sea.

Despite this fascinating legend being untrue, this stone throne indeed dates back to the 5th century, when the first settlers arrived at the Isle of Torcello. The throne was instead used as the seat of the magister militum, the governor of the island, during council meetings and when...

Five stars do not do justice to this restaurant! We called in for an early lunch on the Thursday before Easter and were warmly welcomed. The food was nothing fancy but it was good and honest as was the house wine. Shortly after we arrived it started to fill as local workmen and families came to eat. One of our mottos is if it's good enough for the locals, it's good enough for us.

If we're ever in Venice again, we'll be on the first available vaporetto to Torcello and...
