Italian cuisine with a modern twist.
My parents and I went for lunch and had a lovely lunch. We found ourselves with a very tasty dry Pinot Grigio (regret not asking to see the label, woulda loved to have ordered some for home in Muc) and a local season IPA right after we sat down.
Given that it was lunch time, we went for one dish each - mixed raw seafood, fish of the day (yellow tail) and iberico tenderloin. The dishes were very well cooked, with balanced and refined flavors all around. The tenderloin was juicy and the homemade bbq sauce was excellent. The yellow tail was firm and flavorful while the raw seafood simply sweet

Me and my partner were staying at a nearby hotel, and saw some of the other reviews so thought we'd pop over. We were lucky enough to get the one table remaining, and had a fantastic meal!
We ordered the fish of the day, and the spaghetti gentile with cuttlefish. Both were fantastic - the fish and cuttlefish cooked to perfection, the pasta just the right kind of al dente. We then finished off with desserts - a tiramisu and a bitter mandarin sorbet, and an espresso each.
To accompany the meal, we had a bottle of unfiltered wine, an orange wine (which the waiter did make sure to let us know it was an orange wine, which was fine - we really like them!). Again, it was very nice, and reasonably priced too.
On the prices, for the two mains, the wine, desserts, coffees and cover, it came to €109, which we felt was very reasonable. We were also given a small cauliflower starter before the meal, and a liqueur after, at no extra cost!
Which brings me onto the service and the staff. Honestly, brilliant. They were very accommodating, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was chilled out and great. It really was a fantastic meal.
If you're in Venice,...
Read moreI have tried to book this restaurant last time I was in Venice when it was fully booked so this time we planned ahead and got a table. Really wanted to love this place - nice interior, short menu that promised something authentic….it was a bit different than what I expected. The starters including the primo piatti were really good. I wish that I had ordered more of the starter menu because the main dishes fell short of achieving the same level of taste and execution. We loved the eel sandwich, liked the scallops and the gnochetti was good except maybe cooked too soft and lacked character. The mains, the fish of the day and beef diaphragm were disappointing. The fish fillet with skin should’ve been crispier on the skin and it was quite bland. The long beans had the pointed ends on them and we’re not too raw for our taste. The beef diaphragm had some tough pieces that were too hard to chew. The wine list is pretty comprehensive and the natural wine we took was good. In the end I’m glad we tried the place but not sure it lives up to the...
