Roadhouse Restaurant Mestre — Restaurant in Venice

The food was good, the service could've been better, I asked a kids menu and appearantly it came with extra drinks which i didn't know (language barrier) so i thought they brought extra drinks for no reason and send them back they didn't explain it came with the kids menu which i've paid for and just took them back and let me pay for extra drinks for the kids. Eventually i asked for extra crayons cause i have 2 kids and only 1 got them so they fought over it, the waiter was going to bring them but Eventually didn't. When I got the bill i saw that we pay 2€/pp extra for service also so that's just like a lot of money for things we didn't got which were paid for as it all was noted on the ticket. There is a playground but you can't let your kids go alone as it's only entry is outside and the restaurant is next to a highway. Very inconvienient. Was OK and did the job. We couldn’t be bothered going back into Venice in the evening, so we chose to eat here as it is just across the road from the hotel we were staying in. It’s pretty much just a diner that serves burgers, steaks, ribs, salad, etc. Staff were pretty attentive and were quick to take our orders. Food arrived fairly quickly and most of our meals were as expected, apart from the hot sticky ribs which where very dry and there was no glaze of bbq sauce on them at all. When I asked waitress if she thought the ribs looked remotely like the picture in the menu she said no, and suggested we smear a couple of pots of bbq sauce over them, which we did. Roadhouse Restaurant is located near Novotel Venezia Hotel, serves till 10pm and hence is ideal for dine out by hotel guests.

We ordered steak, which is their signature dish, but didn't like it.

One small water bottle cost us 2.5 euros which is very expensive. We are better off in India where all restaurants serve water for free for everyone as many times as one wishes.

There were no Pizzas or Pastas. So, we had to settle for a chicken burger. The chicken portion was generous but the burger was drab.
