I usually dont write long review but I have to this time I had one of the most horrible experience in a hotel to a point I was excited to checkout. I usually trust a novotel and book with them internationally but this was extremely bad: I can tell the lobby is renovated which give you wrong impression because as soon as you reach the (1980s elevator) things will go bad after. 1- every morning around 8:30 the room maids start cleaning the rooms besides you and extremely loud in handling, chit chats, fights and shout, close the doors really hard. I mean clean but do with courtesy that ppl are here to rest and sleep in. I don't have to wake up for work. 2- the room floors carpets and doors are really old and you are greeted with a strong shampoo/detergent smell that will stick with you the whole duration of the stay because the room smell even stronger. So if your allergic good luck 2- The rooms are extremely outdated. First with the old plazma tv, old safe box, outdated bathroom with weird looking bathtub and very small sink and even smaller sink faucet and the light switches that hard to operate and stained and the over all design of the room is depressing. 3- I had so much difficulty locking and unlocking the 1980s safe. To a point I swiped the card more than 20 times to unluck the safe. Got so frustrated and worried that my stuff will be locked in so I didn't use it after. Carried my passport for the remaining of stay. Just horrible. 4- also their hot water boiler are ao old and dirty that has extremely heavy salt deposits to a point when I pored the water to make coffee the salts were on the paper cups. Never use their hot water boiler as its extremely dirty and unhygienic. 5- ones of the weirdest pillows I have ever seen where one pillow has two sides and they are extremely hard and uncomfortable. I always wake up with stiff neck or headache and from the loud maids. Just uncomfortable stay. 6- after my second day I developed allergic reaction to dust, got stuffy nose and sneezing, discoverd the under the bed carpet is coated with dust because they never vacuum it. Poor cleaning. Leave you with the pictures. ADVICE: avoid this hotel if you want to have a good experience in venezia because I didn't.

First, when we checked in, a staff member named Francesco gave us a room that was already occupied. We were shocked to walk in and find another guest inside. I went back to the counter and spoke to the same staff member — instead of apologizing, he just said, “I know, I know – the customer called me.” No apology at all. He seemed frustrated while looking for a new room and even blamed us, saying it was our fault for needing two rooms on the same level (which we never specifically requested). Second, one morning while we were resting in our room, a cleaner unlocked and walked in without knocking, even though the door was locked from the inside. This is a serious security issue. The same thing also happened to our friends in the next room. It makes us question if the locks actually work properly. Third, the water temperature in the shower was completely unstable — it would suddenly turn freezing cold or burning hot without warning. This made showering uncomfortable and even a bit dangerous. Fourth, the cleaner came in without knocking again with a do not disturb hanging outside. This is very unprofessional. Lastly, the fridge had a sticker saying: “We are happy to provide free of charge water. We kindly ask you to leave the empty bottle on the desk (and not inside the bin).” But when we asked for another bottle, we were told it wasn’t free. Why advertise something as complimentary and then charge for it? Overall, poor service, security concerns, and a lack of honesty. This hotel is not up to 4-star standards — it should be rated 3 stars at best

A great hotel with great location to explore Venice - either by car or using public transport (there is a stop with direct bus service just around the corner). Otherwise it is in the "middle of nowhere" and you have to walk quite a bit or drive to the nearest shop or pizza place (the hotel restaurant opens for dinner at 19:30, which might be a bit late if you have hungry kids). One of the best features for us was the pool - while it is tiny, it is very refreshing and clean. There is towel service and swimming aids that your kids can use. Regarding breakfast, note that this hotel is used by tour operators a lot, so early in the morning (6-8) the breakfast can get VERY crowded. Despite this, Novotel staff makes sure to restock everything so don't worry, you can get plenty of anything (and the food is delicious, I especially enjoyed their croissants) even if you wake up later. Regarding parking, you can book a paid one behind a gate (still out in the open, not a garage) in advance, but there is also a large number of free spots in front of the hotel so you might want to wait until you arrive as the paid parking was pretty much empty and did not seem to run out of space while we were there. And finally kudos to Johny at the bar for his Aperol Spritz with a twist, I enjoyed it very much by the pool after spending all day walking around Venice.

I usually dont write long review but I have to this time

I had one of the most horrible experience in a hotel to a point I was excited to checkout. I usually trust a novotel and book with them internationally but this was extremely bad:

I can tell the lobby is renovated which give you wrong impression because as soon as you reach the (1980s elevator) things will go bad after.

1- every morning around 8:30 the room maids start cleaning the rooms besides you and extremely loud in handling, chit chats, fights and shout, close the doors really hard. I mean clean but do with courtesy that ppl are here to rest and sleep in. I don't have to wake up for work.

2- The rooms are extremely outdated.

We stayed here as our tour company Trafalgar used this hotel during a trip to Italy. ||||When we checked in we asked the front desk person for a higher floor- however we were told that all Trafalgar people were located at the same floor for luggage service. (Later we would find out that this was a lie because others were given higher floors).||We were assigned room 104 - when we went in, there was a double bed and a sofa bed in the room opened and both beds were made.||However we closed the sofa bed as we didn’t need it - this is when we noticed that the carpet had lot of dust and bits of garbage on it- the bed also had some white powder near the foot of the bed. The bathroom was making some squeaky sounds like a broken fan. We called the front desk to report these issues - however no one showed up for a while - meantime we started having trouble breathing so we wore masks, and went downstairs to the reception to tell them this- and the same front desk person above said to wait for maintenance guy- who also did not show up for a long time. ||When we went back to the reception, She said she will change us to another room on same floor- this was a much better room than the previous room. When we walked out later, we noticed that the earlier room had a tag for “ozone fumigation, do not enter”- we were not sure what this meant so had to look it up- it seems like this is done for mold treatment etc. ||I wanted to note that the hotel pictures look very nice online but don’t be fooled by this facade- it’s really a terrible, dated building/facilities, with poor front desk staff and no customer service acumen. The girl at the front desk did not need to lie to us- and rooms should be clean before they assign to anyone. These are really basic expectations from any hotel.||||I would like to also inform Trafalgar to not use this hotel in the future- to avoid any future mishaps, not sure what kind of quality checks Trafalgar does when they...

The rooms were a nightmare. The buttons of the lights are broken beside the bed. The sofa bed is almost damaged. There are mosquitoes in the room. Kids had bug bites.

Coming to the breakfast part, there was a 25-30 person minimum queue everyday, and a waiting time of 30-45 mins to get to your turn. The breakfast says buffet, but there were 2 ladies serving breakfast who were extremely arrogant and just asks you what you want and behaves just as in some hostel canteen!! When you want something else later, you have to be in tje queue (30mins) again!! There is not even a nice bread. They are baking baguettes and giving these out as breads! They are stale! You can forget about the fresh juice! There is a automat which Dispenses some liquid but definitely cannot define that as fresh juice!

We wanted to have a beer at night wen to the hotel bar, we got two beers and sat out. No table was cleaned! The staff left without removing the glasses of previous guests. We had to remove them and place on other table and make space for us! The beer was overly charged! Its a shame! It was 16€ for 2 bottles of 330ml beers. We were in a 5 star hotel previous night and they charged 6€ for the beer along with a nice service!! This is no where compared to that!

The hotel staff was not helpful in suggesting the transportation means as well! The guy in the front desk said that the last bus to come to hotel was at 00:30 or so but the last bus was 11:15. we got stuck at the train stop and had to walk 2,5 kms in the midnight with kids as we dint get any taxis!!

The hotel was overly booked despite the Corona situation and hence the places are exploded. No minimum distance maintained! No cleanliness maintained! Absolutely dissatisfied and disappointed from...
