Rossopomodoro — Restaurant in Venice

If I was giving stars for food, this place would get five. Staff friendliness five also. Ambience scored MINUS five however 😡😡😡 Unfortunately we were sat upstairs on a Saturday night (9-November). The noise that was tolerated from a family gathering in the corner was unbelievable!! A young girl was aggravating the other children in this party, clearly daddies were only interested in their Peroni’s, mummies their Aperol Spritz, not attempting to quieten the children whatsoever.😡😡😡 Despite their behaviour CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY annoying other diners who had one course and left the building, the girl was constantly SLAMMING the table making such a noise, it reverberated around the building, NOBODY from the staff had a quiet word with the adults at that table. When we paid up upon leaving, we pointed this out, but were told basically that “aren’t all children lovely, aaah”!!😦

Whilst the pizzas were very good, if this kind of clientele is what Rossopomodoro encourages, sadly this would deter us from returning again, which...

We walked in and the first thing that was told to us is there was no pizza. Ok, we came for pizza but we were flexible and decided to try the pasta. Big mistake. I don’t like to give bad reviews but in this case maybe it would benefit the restaurant. Servers and managers were all huddled together at the front door talking. We had to let them know when we were ready to order. We each tried a different pasta dish and it was really dry and lacked flavour. We aren’t picky eaters. We had to call them over again for a refill on our drinks, not a big deal, but since there was only a couple of other tables occupied at the time, we expected better service. I would recommend this chain restaurant in Mestre, close to Venice, Italy, because the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.

Even though this is a chain restaurant, everything tasted like it was made from scratch, and it probably was. Everything was simple, fresh, and tasty.

The waiter and waitresses were super nice.

We had a salad with greens, avocado, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, black rice that was huge, fresh, and tasty.
