Never going back! We had dinner there. The service during the dinner was good, we had and appetizer, a pasta and two main dishes. My boyfriend’s fillet had a nerve in the middle and the silverskin wa s still attached. I ordered some breaded fish, which was unseasoned, and imposible to eat from the amount of spines. I told the waiter to took my plate but I didn’t wanted to try anything else. And at the moment of payment “free shots of limoncello” which it was appropriate, but then on the bill, a DISCOUNT on the price of my dish, the one I didn’t even eat. And she told it was because I didn’t like it. I expressed that I COUDNT possibly eat it, and after a long discussion they took it away. The other younger waiter looking at us very angry. Never going back, we maybe go to Verbania 4 times a year we’ve been already 3 times to osteria il Monte Rosso. We’ll stick to what we know is good. This place is overly expensive for the lack of technical skills of the chefs and lack of sensitivity of...
Read moreThe restaurant has a very nice decor and a good atmosphere. The food was very good - but the whole thing was spoiled by the service. We ordered two starters and a T-Bone steak, which was served on a wooden board with baked potatoes and vegetables. We asked for two plates because we wanted to eat it together. What happened surprised me a bit - the waitress brought a board with meat - showed it to us - then took it away and divided the previously sliced meat - onto two plates. Not only did the dish look like someone had collected the leftovers from the plates and sloppily placed them on one - but the steak slices spread all over the plate cooled down in a few minutes. I pointed this out after we received the plates, but they did not react in any way. As for the price - we paid 165 euros and I think it is too much considering the quality I...
Read moreMy daughter found this restaurant from Google maps and it had very good ratings. We went in thinking of trying the veal Tartare, but the decided on their chef menu for 65 Euros a person. It did not disappoint, I added their wine pairing which produced a couple of wines from the region and another from southern Italy. The wines were great and so were the dishes. We had a chef starter from local squash or pumpkin and a pickled topping, the appetizer was a local specialty vitello Tonnato followed by a creamed cod (sounds gross but is very tasty and enjoyable). Finally a veal cheek entree and a very tasty and unique Zabaione. Overall we loved the experience and would recommend this place to anyone...
