It was close to lunch time, my husband and I weren’t looking for something specific to eat so we were just browsing all the restaurants in the area and came upon this one. This was the best Italian food we’ve had since being in Vicenza! We had a hard time understanding the menu, the owner came out and patiently explained the items to us. Thankfully, one of the waitresses speaks Spanish and so I was able to explain what we’d like to eat. We ended up getting items off the menu and ooo la la they were delicious! In fairness, it was the Saturday before Easter, so staff was shorthanded, but if a place is open any day, it ought to bring its best. We had a dinner with friends and the food was fine but not exceptional. There was one waitress on duty, and she was stretched thin. Needless to say, table side manner was lacking. I had the capresse for a starter, my buddy had the croque monsieur. Both fantastic. The capressee literally melted in your mouth. I picked braised pork cheek and potatoes fried in I think duck fat, not sure, all I know is that they were delicious. Antonio, (the owner) was an awesome host, server, and cook.
