WOW! I am blown away but not only the quality of the food at this restaurant but also the professionalism, eagerness to please, and overall care of the staff! Raffaele, Alberto, and the rest of the staff provided us with a memorable dining experience for the last night of our honeymoon! We were pretty bummed going in since it’s raining but they truly had a contagious attitude when it came to our evening. First off, they met us at the door with umbrellas since it was beginning to rain and assisted us to our seats and later the restroom so we didn’t get wet! The restaurant is both inside and outside but thankfully they had seats inside and made sure not to overcrowd the area! I would love to come back one day and see the restaurant in the sunlight as they had beautiful citrus trees and a lovely atmosphere!! They were helpful and knowledgeable about choosing a wine that would suit our meal and made excellent recommendations!! The fish of the day and T-bone steak were both delicious entrees! After our meal we were absolutely stuffed but Raffaele gave us a sample of limoncello which was to die for— probably the best we’ve had our entire honeymoon! My phone didn’t have connection so we requested that they called our hotel and let them know we’re ready for pick up and Raffaele insisted we can use his personal device! Now that is service!!!!! Surrounded with orange and lemon trees, top notch food and the most hospitable staff, this restaurant epitomizes the best of its industry. The drinks made by the bar man; Luca is second to none. His attention to detail and mixology skills results in cocktails that will blow your mind away. I had the pleasure of meeting the head chef; Luciano who gave me a new found respect for this craft. The way he described doing his market run personally to hand pick the very best ingredients really shows with every mind blowing bite from the fork. Mariarosaria, who is a waitress catered to our needs and ensured that our many trips to this restaurant was made that much more memorable. It is safe to say that if you are looking for an excellent family run restaurant with amazing value for money, look no further than Il Barrio Osteria. What an amazing setting and beautiful food and service.

The courtyard full of lemon and orange trees that hang around and above you as you eat adds to the special atmosphere.

We dined at night so it was dark which only added to that special atmosphere.

We hadn't booked so sat having an espresso martini as we waited for a table. I should add that the staff were so attentive without being overbearing, so very welcoming. My lamb was beautiful and my wife said her tagliatelle with sausage was equally as beautiful. This unique restaurant is a must visit if in Vico. It was the evening before the big match so I got a bit of football chat with the chef when we were leaving. When we found out we were Scottish we got an extra warm exchange.
