This our second time here. The first time wasn't really all that. But we decided to take another chance because it was a Sunday and not much places were open. We got seated within 3 minutes of our arrival. We noticed that our server is also the bartender for some reason. I don't know if she got any service training but this job isn't for her. She's not rude at the time but you can see she's annoyed and frustrated that we have to think about our orders. I told her we want some pepper shrimp but my gf quickly changed her mind. So we decided to get a sandwich instead of that. She gave me a look that was very unprofessional. She opened her eyes wide and gave a frustrated sigh. We ordered that sandwich among other things. We got our food pretty quick (about 20 minutes) since we're the only guests there. The food came incomplete (missing the sandwich, plantains etc.) The food was meh. The jerk chicken was very salty and still a lil bloody inside. We finished our food and the other items still wasn't there. We realized that she never include those items in the order. We didn't bother to ask because we just wanted to leave the place. We left our table to use the restrooms and while I was standing up there waiting for my gf, our server approached me with "pssst" with the card machine on her hand and the "reciept" that was never shown. Before swiping my card she asked me if I want to tip. I told her no and I will just give her cash. I understand these are underpaid staff but to ask me for a tip while showing minimal effort is ridiculous to me. I still gave her a tip but I noticed that she overcharged me as well. I'm assuming she tipped herself with my card already. I checked the menu online and my bill shouldn't come up to the amount I was charged with. It's not big money but the unprofessionalism and the reason why I won't be coming back to...
Read moreMy partner and I went to this restaurant and I ordered the oxtail and he got the chicken pasta. The service was good up until my partner found an insect in his food. He reported it to the waitress who then reported it to her manager. The manager of this restaurant then proceeded to communicate through the waitress to us that this is a partially out door restaurant and we should accept the fact that something can fly into the food while it is being prepared. They then offered a 50% discount, but, then only half of the food had been eaten. So, basically, they were asking him to pay for what he ate. We found this response to be disgusting and offensive and turned us off the restaurant all together. So, if you want to go to this restaurant, please understand that they will NOT accept liability if you find a bug in your food. SO disappointed in this place and would...
Read moreNice restaurant/bar. Very good service from the usual standard of Jamaican friendly staff. The restaurant provides a pleasant environment in which to dine and is well ventilated with what felt like natural cool air rather than air conditioning. The Fish soup (starters was lovely as was the gateaux for dessert, the main course however was disappointing. The jerk pork was dry and tough and whilst the sauce was tasty it could not redeem the pork. The Virgin Colada and Strawberry Daquiri were a real treat. There was a nice vibe in the restaurant with it's background music. The live band played well with a mix of some old favourites from, among others, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond and Bob Marley. Prices were reasonable - three course meal and drinks for under $4,000 (JD. The bathroom facilities were clean and well presented. Licensed taxi service available...
