I had an incredible evening at Sushi Bar The End in Abashiri! The quality of the fish was so so super fresh and extremely delicious, and the sushi rice was perfectly vinegary and fluffy. The sushi chef, Hiro, was both professional and laid back; he told me what was special for the day and highlighted the freshest items available. Even with his limited English, he was very helpful in explaining the menu and beer selection; it was clear he wanted to make sure I had a wonderful meal. I ordered 6-8 pieces of nigiri (some shown below), sunomono, and a local Abashiri beer. I arrived around 10:45 PM, so the restaurant was quite empty, with just one table finishing up. However, I still felt a warm atmosphere thanks to Hiro and the server, Shun :) They were so friendly and welcoming and we had a great conversation about Abashiri, Japanese music, and a whole bunch of random stuff. The service was great — super prompt and kind — but the standout feature was still definitely the quality of the fish. Fresh scallop, tuna, herring, salmon, oishii desu!! I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for delicious sushi in Abashiri!

Come here for the excellent sushi and Japanese dishes. They are both tasty and very beautifully plated. The seasoned edamame goes great with beer. Ladies have a discounted price for nomihodai (all you can drink), which I really appreciate because I never feel I drink as much as my friends. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the pizza. It seemed like spaghetti sauce poured on crust. When you picked up a slice everything slid right off into a puddle on your plate. Don't let that stop you from visiting this restaurant though. Every other dish is great! Staff is also very attentive.

It's a bit pricy compared to other places around but oh my God, those sushis were incredible! Different varieties of fish, each separately prepared with their special sauce or topping. Might be one of the best sushi I ever had!!
