Izakaya (Japanese-style pub) with a namahage (a Japanese monster deer) near Akita Station. This izakaya is an interactive izakaya that is thoroughly focused on presentation. An extraordinary experience begins when you enter through the small door. The space with irori (wooden stove) is reminiscent of old izakaya (Japanese style pub). Excellent experience! We knew this restaurant was going to be special from the moment we couldn't find the "little door on the left" to enter... the Namahage performance was the icing on the cake of a great meal of amazing food, sake, and おもてなし service - all at an incredibly reasonable price !

The お通し (cover charge) of 1000yen covered 2 extra dishes and a soup, which was extremely value-for-money.

There is no English menu, but they do welcome foreigners, although ordering will be a little difficult and you won't be able to interact much with...

It was shallow to refuse paying customer because they wanted more profit for the night. Apparently I had to be famous for a chance to be given a seat.

Until my influencer career kick off or the boss is more considerate, I was told by locals the restaurant next door is better food and pricing.

Edit* Right around Kanto Festival.. I hope so... If not the blatant attempt of damage control doesn't change my...

평일에도 예약를 해야 입장이 가능할 정도로 인기있는 곳으로 작은 문을 통과해서 들어가야되서 덩치가 많이 큰 사람은 들어가기 어려울수도 있다. 저녁 8시쯤 나마하게 라는 도깨비쇼?를 하는데 관광 온 일본인들과 직원들 모두 꽤 진지하다. 친절한 할아버지가 북을 치면 사이키가 돌고 번쩍하더니 주방쪽에서 나마하게사마가 등장하신다. 맨안쪽부터 모든 테이블을 돌며 덕담같은 걸 하는데 일본어 초보라 알아듣기 상당히 힘들다. 근처 모든 시선이 나에게 집중되서 더 안들린다. ㅠㅠ i분들은 왠만하믄 혼자 가지마라. 그래도 머라머라 덕담인지 악귀를 쫓는건지 좋은 말을 해주신다. 나갈때도 직원분이 같이 나오셔서 등뒤에서 먼가 좋은 기운을 넣어준다. 오토시부터 안주나 술이 좀 비싸긴해도 색다른 체험이고 즐거웠다.
