Definitely my worst experience at any place in Japan in more than four years living in this country!
No Italians allowed in our Italian restaurant! Nor any other foreigners!
When my wife and myself arrived at the restaurant for dinner, the guy at the entrance first made preparations to take our temperature, as is common in Japan these days. Then he had second thoughts and told us in Japanese that no, actually we would not be able to have dinner with them. After trying to get an explanation - there were empty tables, and closing time was still 90 minutes away - he asked us to wait and got a female colleague of his who told us in perfect English that we obviously were foreigners, and their restaurant would not cater to foreign nationals!

This must be the best pizza restaurant in Akita. The cheese actually tastes of cheese
They use a stone oven, which is super rare in this part of the world. For that reason alone you should give them a try. I've tried 6 pizzas from their menu, and all of them have been absolutely fantastic. The rest of the menu (non-pizza selection) seems great as well
I will especially mention their Quattro formaggi, which is served together with a small jug of honey. Biting into that feels like I'm filling my mouth with a small piece of heaven each time. Holy moly!
Right, so, I recommend you go and visit them. You won't be disappointed if you want to...
Read moreWe found this place while walking around. The waitress brought an English menu in a tablet for us to place our order which made the process faster and easier.
We ordered Margherita pizza and while it was not an authentic Italian recipe and preparation, it was good. A good quick eat.
