Location: near Kamegawa station if you are not driving. Otherwise easily accessible with car via Google maps. Parking not an issue as there is space around. We went at 5pm as we were hungry 😋
TLDR: it’s really good and many Singaporean customers come here according to the staff who attended to us
There were only 1-2 English reviews whilst the rest were by locals, so I’ll contribute mine here.
This was listed as one of the top ramen places in one of the write ups but judging from the reviews and also personally tasting the ramen, it deserves to be #1 ramen in Beppu and/or even whole of Japan
We ordered the pork broth ramen and hell’s ramen (spicy) and both were incredibly flavorful. The pork broth ramen was super tasty. The spicy ramen on the other hand (don’t let the picture fool you) was HUGE and filled with a lot of ingredients! First they cook the ingredients (except noodles) in a big wok - this gave the dish a lot of ‘wok hey’ as the Chinese would say and made the dish so so flavourful. It wasn’t too spicy and in fact was perfect for a 6 degree night!
I don’t think the owner (sumo wrestler) was around but a gentleman attended to us and spoke to us in decent English. The menu is in Japanese but nothing Google image translate can’t do. Read moreHands down the best ramen in town! 🍜 From the very first sip of the broth, you know you’re in for something special – rich, flavorful, and deeply comforting. The noodles are perfectly cooked, with just the right chew, and the toppings are generous and well-balanced. Whether you’re a ramen purist or someone just looking for a satisfying meal, this place delivers on all fronts.
The portion size is no joke – big enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. Ideal for those days when you’re absolutely starving and craving something warm and hearty. You definitely won’t leave hungry.
The restaurant space is clean, well-lit, and pleasantly minimal. Tables are spaced out enough to have an easy, relaxed conversation without feeling cramped. It’s perfect for casual catch-ups with friends or even a solo noodle fix.
If you’re in town and love ramen (or even if you’ve never had it before), this spot is a must-try. I’m already planning...
Read morevisited this cozy little ramen stall after stumbling on some of the reviews. broth incredibly creamy, rich in flavor—so good that I finished the upsize bowl even though I wasn’t all that hungry. but as I sat at the bar, slowly savoring each bite, I found myself captivated by the scene in front of me. The chef, with such patience and dedication, was teaching two young apprentices, guiding them through every detail as they prepared bowls for other diners. In that moment, I realized just how much passion had gone into crafting the delicate bowl of ramen I had just finished. It felt like I was in Japan, experiencing the true essence of ramen at a bar seat. It was more than a meal—it was a moment...
