I recently had the pleasure of dining at Heys Diner with my family, where I sampled a few of their signature dishes. The standout for me was the fried chicken and waffles, which I found to be absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the sweet, fluffy waffles. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone looking for a unique and satisfying meal.
I also tried the patty melt, which was decent, but not quite as impressive as the chicken and waffles. The Texas burger was another recommended item on the menu, but unfortunately, the patty itself was under-seasoned, which took away from the overall flavor of the dish. However, the other ingredients in the burger were fresh and tasty, and I can see why it's a popular choice.
To drink, I ordered a root beer, and I was pleased to find that it tasted exactly how I wanted it to. The iced coffee was a bit weak for my taste, but the hot coffee was decent enough.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, with a rustic decor that really captured the American diner vibe. However, the entire restaurant was a lot smaller than I expected, with only three large booths and four or five small tables. There were also some outside tables, but it was still quite chilly outside, so I don't think anyone would want to eat there.
We arrived just before opening and were lucky to get a table, as the place quickly filled up. There were two servers on duty when we went on a Saturday, and once the tables were filled, it did take a while to get our check. However, we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive, which was a relief.
The prices at the restaurant were slightly on the higher end than what I would normally pay, but the portion sizes were generous enough to fill me up. However, I did notice that there was no baby seat available from what I could tell, and there was no convenient place to stow our stroller. This may be something to keep in mind for families with small children.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic American dining experience that isn't overly expensive. The food was generally very good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the service was friendly, if a bit slow at times. Just make sure to get there early to...
Read moreWe were shopping at the Mitsui Outlet Mall in Makuhari when we stumbled upon the Hey Diner’s promotion standee. It was fascinating to check out their Instagram page. So we decided to have dinner at the Hey Diner’s that night. It was a Saturday evening and raining and the thought of an American diner was quite exciting for our kids. We ordered their pepperoni pizza, buffalo wings, fries, fried chicken and the grilled chicken with garlic toast. The fried chicken was crispy from outside and nice and juicy from inside. The fries were good too.. but what we’ll certainly come back for is the pepperoni pizza.. we’d not eaten this good a pizza in Tokyo before.. out of the world lovely pizza! Goid ambience, good music, good service and fantastic American food. Will surely come back again when we’re craving for the American fare 😍❤️ Hey’s Diner was a great...
Read moreI felt like eating American pizza so I tried this place. The place is nice but only 3 car parking, food was tasty, and service was good. I’m from California so I just wanted to make some suggestions. The portions could be a little bigger but I know it’s the culture in Japan for small portions. The pizza was tasty but it was more mix of American and Italian style like could be bigger and the crust could be a little more firmer but cheese pull was good. Buffalo wings was tasty but again bigger portions if possible. Lastly, I had clam chowder it was tasty but the texture could be a little more thicker. Overall good tasty clean n chill vibe. Try it out! I wonder why the owner wanted to make American diner...
