Food was good. Service was very hectic and rude. The woman (an elderly), was cold when we got in. So we sat ourselves to a nearby table (because she didn't say anything, no "iraisshaimasse" nor asked how many people are there). We want to order but saw that we have to do it at a machine by the entrance. So, we got up, then the woman came and asked us impatiently, if we are going to use that table, we answered yes in japanese (yes we could speak japanese) and said we are just going to the machine to order. She looked at us irritated and left. When we came back, our drinks were on the table. She came back and took our stub orders, again, without saying anything. She came back this time, asking, who ordered what and laid the tray on our table and left. Some japanese guests came and all of a sudden, the same cold server became SOOOO friendly and all smiles. I mean, we are not tourist mind you, I know she couldn't tell it ofc, BUT having lived in Japan for so many years, this change of behavior of the japanese servers and store owners are very noticeable. The annoying part is, the japanese government (+ NHK) has been making a lot of advertisements about the japanese "omotenashi" and then you come to japan and be treated like a 2nd class citizen.
