I had the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary hotel anniversary dinner at ROBATA Grill Restaurant SHIKOTSU, included in my room rate at ANA Crowne Plaza Chitose. The dinner was a limited-course menu called “Namara Hokkaido,” showcasing fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes.
The standout elements of the meal were the appetizer and the wagyu beef—both were exceptional in quality and taste. The server added to the experience by explaining each dish as it was served, which enhanced the meal’s overall sophistication. That said, the portion sizes were on the smaller side, leaving us wanting a bit more.
Unfortunately, there were two notable downsides to the experience. First, the complimentary dinner was only offered to adults, despite my child being included in the hotel room booking. It would have been thoughtful for the restaurant to provide a kid-friendly meal instead of requiring us to order separately from the à la carte menu. Second, the set dinner did not include any dessert, which felt like an incomplete ending to what was otherwise a well-curated meal.
While the quality of the food and service was undeniably high, I’m hesitant to return unless the dinner is included as part of a hotel room package. The prices are exorbitant, and there are plenty of other dining options in the area that offer better value for money.
Overall, the experience was memorable but not compelling enough to warrant a repeat visit...
Read moreLOVE! We arrived just before the restaurant was closing, but they welcomed us in and provided incredible service. We shared sashimi, grilled wagyu, and a few vegetables. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional: the uni (sea urchin) was the freshest, most impeccable we have ever tasted, far beating NY, LA, etc. sushi restaurants. The wagyu was heavenly, with its impeccable well marbled fat, and the local Japanese horseradish & sea salt the elegant touch. Highly recommend dining here, especially if you are staying at the Crowne Plaza. It is not inexpensive, but considering the quality, we felt it was well priced. 20,000 JPY ($135) for 4 people...
Read moreMy first time having A5 wagyu. I thought I died and gone to heaven lol. Best surf and turf meal I’ve had so far. Chef and waitress were super nice. Also ordered 2 grilled oysters, mini seafood rice bowl, and baked potatoes. Everything was just spectacular. I’m here for 10 more days and I’m coming back...
