KICHI TO NARU KITCHEN 富士高嶺店 — Restaurant in Fuji

I recently dined at KICHI TO NARU KITCHEN [富士高嶺店] and was initially hesitant since they don’t have a designated vegetarian menu. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the staff were in creating a memorable meal tailored to my dietary preferences.

From the start, our server went above and beyond to understand my needs, consulting the chef to suggest creative alternatives. They offered to adapt several existing dishes, swapping out meats for a combination of seasonal vegetables, grains, and house-made sauces. The result was delicious and felt thoughtfully crafted rather than just a last-minute substitute.

We were Amazed by their hospitality 😍 they didn't have much vegetarian options, so the chef was very kind enough to customize the noodles with only vegetables. 吉と成る木のシステムに警鐘

入り口にある幸福の木という、ごく一般的な観葉植物だが、この店での総称は［吉と成る木］という。

来店した客は、店側が用意した紙とペンを自由に使って願い事を書き、その木の幹や葉に結ぶ。 神社などにある絵馬のようなシステムである。

そして、その願い事の紙が木を覆いつくすくらいになった頃に、オーナーが全ての願い事の紙をゴミ袋に詰めて各地の神社へ納める、というのがこの店の取り組みのひとつだという。

その願い事には、女性客が多いので「恋人が欲しい」などは大半。そして「宝くじ当選」などのポップなものから、ここではとても書けないようなプライベートな切実な願い・悩みまで内容は様々。

問題はここです。 なぜ部外者のわたしがその内容を知ってるのか。

それは《袋詰めの時にオーナーを始め、その日に出勤しているスタッフで願い事を一つひとつ読んでいる》ということ。 そして、それが部外者の私まで伝わってしまっているということ。

小さな町の小さな店がその地域の客に寄り添っているように見せている取り組みが、実際は真剣な悩みを抱えた方々の想いを完全に無視したようなこの実態。

もちろん書く側もそういったリスクはあると承知の上だとは思うが、細く小さく折りたたんであるものをわざわざ広げて内容を読む必要は無い。 更にはそれを見て皆で読んで笑ったりする必要も全く無い。

怖いのが、顔なじみの客が結んだ場所を覚えておいて、閉店後などに開いて内容を開いて見ていることもあるという。 本当に怖い。信用問題。

わりと長く続いているこの取り組みだが、どんなに小さく折り畳んでも絶対に見られるので、内容には十分に気をつけて欲しい。
