I visited 藤沢 魂心家 for a late lunch, hoping for a satisfying ramen experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations.

While the ticket machine only accepting paper money wasn’t a surprise, it was a bit inconvenient. I was seated at the counter and provided a glass of water, but things took a downturn when the customer next to me spilled his water, causing my area to get wet as well. Disappointingly, the waitress did not assist in cleaning up, leaving the customer to handle it on his own. Considering she wasn’t visibly busy at the time, I expected better attentiveness.

As for the ramen, the broth was overly salty for my taste, and the noodles were thicker than I prefer, making the overall dish less enjoyable. Though I can see this style of ramen appealing to those who favor bold, salty flavors, it wasn’t to my liking.

While the restaurant’s setup seemed efficient for a quick meal, the lack of attentive service and the overpowering flavors make me hesitant to return.

The rating isn’t very high, but we feel that makes it more genuine. We thought it was excellent—authentic, down-to-earth Japanese ramen. Most of the customers were locals. The server was very enthusiastic. Although we couldn’t understand what she was saying, she kept chatting non-stop from the moment we entered until we left. She did her best to seat us and make us feel welcome. We chose the regular broth—it was still a bit salty, so if you prefer something lighter, you might want to go for the diluted version or just add some water to the regular one. The most economical option (980 yen) is quite good value.The low ratings are probably due to personal preferences—we really don’t understand why anyone would rate it that low.
