Best Meal in Hakodate: Wagyu Sukiyaki & King Crab! This family-run spot was one of the best meals we had during our entire trip in Japan. They totally nail it by combining two amazing things: Wagyu beef and King Crab. Amazing Food We got the Wagyu and Pork Sukiyaki set and the King Crab. The beef and pork were outstanding, perfectly marbled, it just melted on your tongue. The King Crab was also great; steamed and prepared well and loaded with meat, and a perfect, luxurious addition. Friendly Family Service The cozy restaurant is run by incredibly sweet and dedicated owners. Their service was fantastic. Super friendly and personal! They made great conversation and even gave us a detailed run-through on how to cook the sukiyaki perfectly. This personal touch made the whole experience unforgettable. Final Tip This place is a hidden gem. It offers superb quality food and a warm, personal dining experience. It's worth every penny! Highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation, as their dinner hours are currently limited (mostly Friday and Saturday).

This is a family operated restaurant and it was one of the best restaurant experience of our Hokkaido trip. We walked in with no reservation and was given a private room. We heard other foreigners having conversations with the staff so it seems to be a popular tourist spot. The staff was very friendly, made lots of conversation, the food was really good. We had their wagyu beef and pork set for about 68,000 yen. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to experience Sukiyaki at a reasonable price and great service.

We were slightly apprehensive when we first walked in as the entire restaurant was empty, but what doubt we had was put to rest by the quality of the food and the service. We have never had sukiyaki before and the owner sat by us and started cooking for us and showed us how it is done. They also provided on-the-house some ham, camembert, miso cream cheese and sake cream cheese which were made in-house and they were amazing. Glad the initial restaurant we wanted to go to was completely full and we ended up in this little gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend for a highly personal and private...

After spending a long time by the seaside, we craved something warm, so we decided on a sukiyaki and randomly chose this place from the map. The owners were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The Wagyu beef was tender and luxuriously marbled, melting in our mouths with each flavorful bite. The crab was served warmed, its meat firm and fresh, elevating the entire experience.
