Ramen SYOTEN — Restaurant in Hakodate

Super quiet and classic ramen shop that’s absolutely got one of the best broths in Japan, not just in Hakodate. The noodles were perfectly prepared as well. The rest of the ingredients were above average, but the broth stands out as the clear showpiece of the dish.

Because this area has a lot of tourists and my review is in English, I should maybe express that this isn’t a place for families to sit around for hours chatting loudly. It’s got a couple tables that seat two people. Mostly it’s counter space.

Came in with a group of 7 friends at 930 when most places were closing. We were well looked after here, and the food was amazing. Food was well priced especially for how tasty it was. They have an English menu but you can get by with google translating the Japanese menus. The owner/chef and his wife are very nice and helpful.
