Studio Cafe SHIMA — Restaurant in Hakone

I will not lie to you, their picture of their cute train shaped pound cake drew me in. I was also looking for good coffee. Not the type of coffee that came out of a machine or a mix, I wanted real coffee with descriptions of where it came from, and roasting profiles. Other than the adorable pound cake that drew me in, the complete place is just cute, something you'd see out of a book. The serving spoons are cute, the cup and saucer used were very soothing. the place was decorated for full cuteness. We got a matcha smoothie, which was very refreshing, especially for being almost 90f outside. I ordered a black coffee, it was roasted to full city, it was very balanced, and smooth, it's of good quality. The train pound cake was not only cute but it was also tasty. I was here on 27 Nov evening. It was a very small family cafe with only 3 to 4 tables. Every single person need to order at least one drink here. If you have 4 person, you cannot order 3 drinks. I had cafe latte which was a total disappointment. See the photo. Cafe latte supposed to come with milk foam. But mine was just like coffee with milk or flat white. My friends had the Hojicha latte.
