Hakone no Mori no Pancake — Restaurant in Hakone

I am an American traveling around on vacation. I am used to heavy portions, heavy taste, heavy everything. I have dearly enjoyed my time eating in this country, but none more so than here at Hakone no Mori no Pancake. This was damn near a religious experience. I had the strawberry and fondue pancake which was so delicious I was brought to tears. I also had a roast beef sandwich which might be one of the best I've ever had, especially with the pickled peppers. As with everywhere in Japan, the service is immaculate. Everyone was polite, patient with us as we don't know the language well, and quick to help. The seating was very nice and I even got a taste of home as several country songs, including Jolene, played while eating. I would kill to have someplace nearly this excellent...

Very yummy pancakes and really adorable shop. Went for breakfast and got the Mont Blanc which is cherries, chestnut cream, and whipped cream - the cherries were the perfect thing to balance all the sweetness. We also got the regular pancake which is matcha and whipped cream. Conveniently located right by the Gora station and a lot of lodgings.

They also have QR codes linked to foreign language menus. I didn’t have cell service in the restaurant but the staff kindly gave me the wifi login.

Delicious pancakes really can’t complain. Wish they opened an little bit earlier. Kiosk ordering system but they help people who might have difficulty understanding the system, and you can change the language so it makes it easy. I had the Mount Blanc pancakes, and my fiancé had the strawberry pancakes with whip whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
