Found this place while planning our trip! The location is at the fishing port and there were no public transport available. We had walked about 12-15mins from Himi Station at 8am in the morning.
Although the location is alittle far but it is definitely worth the effort! This is the best and most fulfilling breakfast we ever had in Japan! We had ordered the biggest bowl and the sashimi were really fresh. The set comes with a miso soup with fish head and bones which makes the soup naturally sweet! It comes with handmade fishballs which is likely made from 100% fish meat. This makes a very hearty breakfast in the cold weather.
The menu was all in Japanese but there are some pictures printed on it. You could refer to some photos on google review and ask them about it ;)
The only regret is not trying the shiroi ebi sashimi (white shrimps). We only got the fried one which is...
Read moreThere was a small line when we arrived but it went by pretty quickly and we had a view over the fishing port while we were waiting; Ordered fried fish (1pc squid 2pc fish, quite large) and roasted fish (1 large whole fish) sets (since we couldn’t eat raw fish) and both were excellent; portions were generous and each came with a large bowl of rice and a soup with fish, fish balls, and green onions. Our favorite was the roast fish; the skin was crispy and simply seasoned with salt so that you could really taste the freshness of it all. We found that 2 sets were enough for 3 but there were also some nice singles on the menu that we thought were worth adding looking back
P.S. if you’re in for a walk the view along the coast is gorgeous especially on a sunny day; highly recommend taking 1.5h to go on foot from the restaurant to amaharashi if that’s on your...
Read moreI came at 12pm on a Sunday and there was a 40 minute wait. There is a ticket machine on Japanese to get your number. You may need to use Google translate, the questions are: how many adults, how many children, what type of table (table vs tatami mat) and then whether you will wait in front or leave to be emailed when your time is ready.
I had approx 30 people on front of me which took 40 minutes. They will call the number out in Japanese only so learn the numbers or just wait close to the ticket machine. Your printed ticket will also have a QR code so you know when your turn is ready.
Menu is electronic on tablet. Food is exceptionally fresh and delicious. Worth the trip here. It took me almost 2 hours train from Kanazawa.
Menu appears seasonal. I can in...
