Mikiya — Restaurant in Hirosaki

A local izakaya bar that I stopped into on a whim during my business trip to Hirosaki. Everything I ordered was delicious. The cod milt is the best I have ever had. Excellent selection of Japanese sake, will be back. No smoking at bar or tables, good for bringing children. They also have a children's menu e.g. fried chicken, chips etc etc.

If you don’t speak Japanese, do not even think about coming to this restaurant. The moment we entered, the man behind the counter made a remark and didn’t wait for any response from us. With his arms crossed, he loudly and rudely said, “No.” I have never encountered such blatant disrespect in the restaurant...

Bit far from Hirosaki station but they serve great food ! (Take taxi cost around 700yen from the station) I recommend Kiritanpo hotpot(maybe only night time..) !! You will find nice hirosaki soy sauce taste !! Owner and staff are very friendly. Great hospitality here. It feels upscale but is very relaxed , just renovated. Try soba bean sprouts...
