Super delicious and fulfilling meal. The 200+ years old restaurant specialized in tenkaku (basically bbq tofu with miso sauce). Two of us ordered one set meal, one beancurd sheet (tofu skin) salad, and one tenkaku eggplant (seasonal dish). The tofu was soft, hearty warm and excellent to go with the rice. The bean pulp (leftover from making soy milk) side dish was interesting. The eggplant was extremely juicy. So happy that we had dinner here before we leave Iga.
In addition, except for the hondashi used in the salad dipping and soup base, and the two gluten balls in the soup, the meal is by large vegan and gluten free. (This part is purely my guess work). Anyway, it’s nice to eat something light after a few meals...
