Fuguyoshi Ikedahonten — Restaurant in Ikeda

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant and the incredible service we receive. When we visited Japan in July, we were eager to try pufferfish dishes and made a special trip to this restaurant after reading all the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. Food was authentic and absolutely delicious, the staff made us feel welcomed.

We were the last ones finishing lunch before the restaurant closed for a break. After the restaurant owner learned we came by foot, he offered us a ride. Thanks to his kindness, we made it to our train on time and stayed cool despite the intense heat! It was one of those things that reminded us how thoughtful and giving people can be. Walked in after a 2 hour journey in the Summer heat and they gave us a table for lunch! We ordered a set meal and the waitress did their very best to describe each part of the meal in English. The food was amazing and well worth the price. After the meal ended and I was waiting for my mother, the restaurant staff offered to drive us to the station so we didn't have to walk back in the heat elevating the experience.
