One of my favourite meals I've experienced in all of my Japan trips. This unassuming looking izakaya is a hidden gem. Despite having only one chef, the plating and ingredients are of high-end restaurant quality. I was able to watch the chef and see the care and attention to detail put into every element of every dish. The slow-cooked pork belly was the best I've ever tasted, it was so soft that it melted in my mouth. The waitress was so friendly and helpful even though we don't speak Japanese, and they even had a menu translated into English for tourists.
