Spoon — Restaurant in Karuizawa

In November 14th, 2020 at around 1 pm, I went to Karuizawa with my friends whom I haven't seen in ages. After shopping and walking around, we were famished, there were a lot of restaurants to choose from but this restaurant caught our eyes because of how good the food looked, we ordered and I decided pick Omelette Cheese. When mine came it was a slightly different dish, Demi-glaced Omelette, our server apologized and asked if I wanted my original order and I said it was fine. I was just about to eat when all of a sudden a totally different staff, a middle aged woman (around late 40's) suddenly grabbed, yes grabbed my food saying they'll make "my order" as soon as possible. I was too shocked to say anything to her, I thought everything was fine because our server already asked me if I wanted my orginal order and I clearly said I was fine. I didn't mind paying more for the dish, I just wanted to eat because I was starving. My friends were already half way through their dish when my "original order" came, but by that time I've already lost my appetite, the worse part was my dish looked like it was rushed, it didn't look appetizing at all. Needless to say I was disappointed by how that particular staff treated their costumer, she was so focused on how the right order must be served she didn't even think how hungry their costumer must have felt. We tried to let her know that what she did was rude and humiliating but she didn't let me speak a word. Fortunately, my friend stood up for me by saying what she did to me was rude and unforgivable and hope that she doesn't do it to other costumers. I normally give shops and restaurants a second chance if I had a bad experience but needless to say, I will never come back and eat in this...

【開いてて良かった】

正月三が日でも開けてくれている店は助かる。元旦なのに僕はぼっちご飯。 旧軽井沢銀座を歩いていると道路沿いにメニューが掲出されているので、開いているな、と確信して店に向かう。

店自体は通りに面した2階にはあるが、入り口は通りから少し奥に入った階段から上って行くので、やや分かりにくい。

階段を上って店に着くと、『CLOSED』のパネルが出ている。中を覗くと先客なし…。

「あれ？やってないのかな？』と思って扉を押して動かしてみると扉が開いた。「はい、いらっしゃいませ」とお店のママさんの声。「CLOSEDになってますけど⁈」と言うと「あ〜、またやっちゃった」とリアクション（笑）。

日差しも差し込む気持ち良い旧軽銀座通りに面した窓際の席に座り、下を歩く人を眺めつつ、メニューに目を落とす。

パスタやピザやステーキまでメニューにはあるが、ここは事前に確認しておいたレビューで評判の良い「オムライス」にする事にした。

ん〜、でも、オムライスにも何種類かあり、しばらく悩む…。

①「オムデミ（税込¥1595）」はデミグラスソース ②「オムトマ （税込¥1595）」はトマトソース、 ①、②にモッツァレラチーズの加わった ③「オムデミチーズ（税込¥1815）」 ④「オムトマチーズ（税込¥1815）」 …と4種あり、結局ここは一番ベーシックな①「オムデミ」をチョイス。

オムライスにはサラダもセットでついてくる。 …内容は「レタス、ミニトマト、パセリ少々」のシンプルな構成ではあるが、ボリュームはたっぷりのサラダ。 フレッシュな酸味あるドレッシングがかかっていて、シャキシャキ食感で、メインのオムライス前にワシワシとかき込んでしまった。

ちょうどサラダを食べ終わる頃に「オムライス」が運ばれてくる。

こちらのサイズは割と小さめ。オッさんの僕にはちょうど良いけれど、若者は大盛りにしたほうが良いかも。（大盛りに出来るかどうかは確認してません） 刻みパセリはオムライスにもついていて、彩りを加えている。

基本的にオムライスの作りはシンプルで、ケチャップライスにひき肉が入る。玉ねぎは見当たらない。ご飯の硬さも柔らかすぎずちょうど良い。デミグラスソースは酸味が効いて美味。玉子はたんぽぽタイプではないが、中側が半熟とろとろで理想系。 なかなか美味しい。

最後にオプションでお願いした「コーヒー（本来は税込550円が食事とセットで税込330円となる）」もいただく。コーヒーはカップにロゴのあるイタリアのコーヒーの老舗「ラバッツァ」なのかな？酸味と濃さも良いバランス。

Great Food! But Cash Only. Kinda hesitant at first, because only 1 review on this restaurant. But the food looks good from the pictures :) so we decide to have lunch here. The food is great, yummy n can taste it from fresh ingredients.
