We came here because of Terrace house! The date on the show was bad, and visiting here was just as bad... It is ¥1,500 per adult. There are 3 floors of rooms where you can take photos of illusions. Sometimes these are just paintings with angle tricks of your camera, other times there are props.
Each station has a photo example or instructions on how to take the best photo. These were annoying because they were placed on the ground and hard to read. Usually the example photos were also not so great, but they have customer photos randomly placed in each room, these photos were better / more creative.
Overall most of the 'tricks' were poorly done. I actually found parts of the museum about older illusion tricks that you've seen in books, far more interesting. They also explained how and why they worked.
If you're in Karuizawa, you can skip this museum. Maybe its fun for kids? If its just adults,...
