Ootoya — Restaurant in Kawanishi

The current waitress (Jan 2025) loves speaking English. I was a bit standoffish with her and didn't engage, but if you speak English, definitely chat with her (I didn't catch her name). I don't think she gets to self-actualize much in her duties.

Oh yeah, the restaurant itself. Delicious. Like Yayoiken on MSG. I wish every shokudo could be at least this good. What do they put in the food to make it so tasty? I stop by here every chance I get.

The only exception was the macha cheesecake, which was a little dry, and lacked both bitter macha and rich cheese flavor. They try to make up for it by adding whipped cream, which obviously adds creaminess, but drowns out all other flavors.

まず、ここでは食べていませんが有った出来事を。 平日の20時頃に利用しようと思い店舗に行きました。 ちょうど客席はほぼ満席で待ちの客が居たので順番待ちの紙に名前を書いて待っていました。 ちらほら食べ終わった客が帰りだして席も空いてきたのですが一向に席を片付ける様子もなく、まぁ、忙しそうだし待っとくか。程度に思っていました。その間にも順番待ちの紙に数組が名前を書いて店舗の外で待っていました。 15分ほど待っているとようやく店員が席の食器を片づけ出してあとはテーブルを拭いて呼ばれるのを待つだけだなーと見ていると、順番待ちに名前も書いてないふらっと来たサラリーマンが空いてる席に座りタッチパネルで注文を済ませ普通に水やお絞りの提供を受けて居ました。その間店員は一切順番待ち表を見に来ることもなかったです。 トータル30分ほど待っていた私たちは何だったのかとやるせない気持ちになりこの店で食事をすることは有りませんでした。 なので、この店では順番待ちをする必要は有りません。 空いている席に座ればメニューの提供を受けられます。 何らためらうことは有りません。 混んでいる時間でも店内に空いている席が空れば座りましょう。まぁ、その程度のオペレーションなので食事にも期待できません。美味しく気持ちのよい食事をしたい方はこの店はお勧めできません。 せっかく近隣駐車場に車を停めて行ったのに時間とお...
