Hostel & Dining Tangatable — Restaurant in Kitakyushu

The hostel is located 10 mins walk from Kokura Station, a short walk around the corner to Tanga Market and a whole shopping street and Pachinko.

The night scene is bustling. Lots of Yakiniku and Izakaya around.

The hostel Easy and smooth check in - staff attitude 5* We asked to leave our luggage while we roam the city waiting for 3 pm check-in. And we left our luggage after 11 am check out while we walked to Kokura Castle.

Cleanliness 1* dirty floor and untidy :with lots of everything on the floor, every corner.

The elevator with a carpet flooring was filthy.

Toilet and shower cubicle 2* it was a tiny cubicle, one can hardly turn around. There's no space to hook your towel or clothes. And you have to get dressed in the shower as it is a shared shower and toilet space where you have to walk a long way back to your room.

Room- a cell with high windows you can reach or look out. The mattress was very comfortable.

I actually stayed at this hostel JUL 2016, but have only just started using Trip Advisor. I had a wonderful time, staying at first for 1 week then another days later on. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the vibe at the bar, and even helped out at one of the English cafe events; it was a fun experience. My business in Japan was visiting friends, and the location of the hostel in Kokura was perfect for me to walk to the station so I could travel into Fukuoka almost daily. The rooms are what you would expect from a hostel. They were kept nice and clean, had great AC (it was a very hot summer) and the WiFi was acceptable for the most part.
