I bought two cups of coffee to take away. My niece wanted to use the toilet, so I asked the staff if she could use the one at the coffee shop. The staff gave us the key to access the toilet on the 4th floor. When we returned to give back the key, my niece attempted to return it to the staff, but an old lady approached her. Consequently, my niece handed the key to the old lady and said "Thank you very much" to her in Japanese. The old lady responded aggressively, suggesting that we couldn't use their toilet without purchasing something, and crossed her arms to indicate 'NO'. I explained that we had bought coffee. She then waved her hand, signaling for us to leave the store.
As I exited the coffee shop, I raised my coffee cups to show her. She waved her hand again, indicating for us to leave again.
