We were passing by on the way to church and the beautiful pastries and warm lighting from the window drew us in. As soon as we entered, an incredible smell greeted us from fresh baked croissants, rolls, buns. This was around 9:30 am! They were still setting out bread varieties so the displays were about half full at that time. We got a savory bacon bread and a sweet croissaint. Read moreThis was a delightful bakery that had great service, was foreigner friendly and I would say excited to talk to us, and had the most delicious chocolate chip cookie-croissant, which I had never seen before. They also had a delicious long bar cinnamon roll that was good even on the 2nd day of us having it. The person checking us out also was interested in us as Americans and was super sweet! Read moreThere is a bakery called Johan Paris in Singapore that is our go-to bakery store: their salted butter roll and chocolate bread are our favorite. When we saw the same ones in Kobe, we wouldn’t help ourselves but to try, and they were amazing!
The chocolate bread is very rich in flavors but not too sweet, and the salted butter rolls are complex and gives you a hint of saltiness in addition to the buttery taste.
