A five star Teppanyaki dining experience where if one is willing to splurge, it is a worthy meal.
Going to Kobe means it's a must to experience the quality of their famous beef. We tried the A4 Kobe Beef set and what is shown is a double portion of beef as I went there with my wife.
The surroundings and environment were top notch as the care to detail and presentation were outstanding. The hot cooking panel was polished and shiny at every counter, which shows their pride in service. Water was also topped up frequently. There is no rush to finish your meal and the chef can either chat with you or leave you be, depending on your language and social capabilities.
The beef itself was wonderfully tender and succulent. We went for rare as in my opinion, there is no other way to have it. The chef would cut portions of the beef to cook in various styles and intensity hence don't worry if you like it fully cooked. You will get some as that.
The top up for the garlic rice is a must as its a great way to fill up at the end of the meal. Fragrant and well cooked right in front of us.
There are branches of this place scattered around Kobe so try your luck if you didn't make any bookings as its probably required. We were lucky as walk in customers but people after us were turned away.
Having Kobe Beef in Kobe is surely an extravagance but its a meal...
Read moreRead moreI'm a meatlover, I preferably eat steak and I ate some Kobe Beef and Wagyu before. The restaurant feels expensive, which is kinda nice. The people are very friendly and I really liked the food that came with the beef. Several courses, everything delicious and super pretty! But the chef asked us how we wanted our steak, and as always, we like to have it rare. I prefer my steak like that and in most restaurants I will at least get a good medium rare when I'm asking for rare. But in this case, for this price, I want to get a rare steak if I'm asked for the doneness. I think the whole restaurant is doing a bad job cause the cuts of meat where just way too thin initially, I think it was close to impossible to get a rare steak from these. And it definitely wasn't rare. We had a rare steak a few days earlier in Osaka and it was way way better. Also; our rice was brought to the table super delayed. We started eating the steak and the veggies without rice. Later we could see that they brought the rice in time for other guests so it definitely wasn't on purpose that our rice was delayed. And when we saw the others guest's steak (they ordered medium), their steak definitely looked exactly like ours, even tho we ordered rare. For this price I was just disappointed, especially cause in a steak
Navigating the different options for trying Kobe beef in Kobe felt like a jungle with many places getting mixed reviews about hostility towards foreigners, not serving real Kobe beef, charging for more than what was ordered, etc...
Here, I experienced none of that. After a very short wait I was guided to my seat, met by smiles from all of their staff. On a shelf in front of me sat their Kobe beef certificate. I chose my desired lunch set and shortly after the starter/appetizer arrived as well as my drink. As I had finished the first plate, the chef who was going to cook my steak appeared, a nice guy who seemed to take pride in his craft and told me he had been working at this place for 12 years! He cooked the meal perfectly and offered guidance as to how I could best enjoy it, sharing his preferences for mixing the sauces, etc. After finishing my meal and having a short chat with another of their kind chefs, I asked for the bill which amounted to the exact number I anticipated. I had a very good experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking to experience Kobe...
